I grew up in "The Beaver State" but have learned much more about them from your videos than I did in school. Thank you for talking about their diets, dams, lodges, benefits to the environment, etc.

The wire cages filled with rocks are called GABIONS.

Out here, Oregon, gabions are classified as one type of retaining wall. Cheaper than building using concrete

There's a swimming hole in Northern Michigan that is in a river and people dam the water up in big pools with the rocks like that to make pools for swimming :)

Interesting information as always... _Desire Path_ - It's usually a human made path, that after so many people have walked on it, by eroding the ground/earth away...

It's called a desire path because it shows where people desire to walk, even if sidewalks or other protection have not been put there. I recall one famous time, there was an architect that was commissioned to build (or rebuild) a university campus, who did not put sidewalks in until after the grass had grown in, because it showed the efficient paths people took to get to their classes and offices, and these paths were sized based on how much those paths were used (and by how many people at once). So once the desire paths were visible, they were replaced with sidewalks matching each one's width.

i had a gopher in my backyard, what i ended up doing was setting up a motion camera with an alarm and 3 days went by and it was gone. I bought these "noise for gophers" motion thing and it sucked

Beavers know what is best for the habitat. At what point do we let them have the planet back? Or at least find a better way to coexist side by side in a more symbiotic relationship? My thoughts are they can help us maintain sustainable habitats better than we ever could. Love that you said you never touch a dam if it doesn't bother the road. Nice work post.

I saw you cleared the beaver Dam in previous video you were soaked in water your water boots got water. i dont know but if you doing such work in big pipes why not put om a water suit or something like that so you stay warmer if water is colder and dryer wen you go home. i bet you can do you thing also better by not getting wetter wen you do more? Thanks for everything.
