Just a urchin livin' under the street I'm a hard case that's tough to beat I'm your charity case so buy me something to eat I'll pay you at another time Take it to the end of the line
It's a long-long way through the River cite-y! And the girls in this city they look so pretty! They punch and kick - you would wish you'd never meet the girls from River citeeeeey!!!
I'm not usually a fan of beat em ups but this one looks pretty interesting plus it's made by Wayforward my favorite indie studio so I might give it a shot
Probably because that game was based on a pretty standard 1990's Arcade/NES/SNES/SEGA genre that River City Ransom practically started. And this is... A seeequel(?) to that.
When she does her Lightning Kick special, she'll sometimes shout, "ORAORAORA!," just like from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Which is nice, considering how much of a Jojo fan Kira Buckland is.
I just bought this. River City Ransom was my first beat em up and it's still one of the best ever. Could you guys PLEASE consider getting the Power Rangers licence and making a beat em up with Pixel Art Upgrading Skills - The Ability to Morph - Anime Cut Scenes - Original Cast Voice actors - And Zord Battles GUYS I'M TELLING YOU IT WOULD BE A HUGE HIT.
Needs a fanart of Misako & Kyoko cosplaying as YunYun & Chrs/Eris from Konosuba respectively since they share the same English Dub voice actresses. Or Emilia & Beatrice From ReZero too.
Kudos on making the best-looking Kunio game ever made. It feels like everyone else in the last 20 years was stuck in the 90's, while you spent the time (and money) to show them what a 2019 game should look like. :)
Nice of WayForward to revive Kunio Kun(and River City) franchise some spotlight. And they even brought some old characters as well! This is absolutely god-waifu-like. PLEASE keep up the good work!!
I'm debating whether if I should buy the digital version now or pre-order the physical version. I know the physical game comes with a CD of the OST, but other than that, is it pretty much the exact same game? Or does the physical game come with any additional features that the digital version doesn't have?
This is a great game. I downloaded this already also i pre ordered the collectors edition from limited run. This is a good beat em up. The music tracks r great. I spend alot of money since i got the download and waiting for the collectors edition on this game am happy. Wayforward and everyone here has done a fantasic job.
I want to play this game, I really do, but the timing is terrible. I have Astral Chain arriving today, Creature in the Well coming out tomorrow, and Daemon X Machina out next week. And I STILL need to beat Fire Emblem. I swear I will buy this game. Eventually.
So I just played it and I have ONE MAJOR complaint that needs to be fixed asap: MAKE A MANUAL ON HOW TO USE A KEYBOARD TO PLAY THE GAME!!! During in-game play, the game labels all the moves based on a gamepad, like press A to select, or L to return, but it DOESN'T apply to keyboard keys effectively! My BIGGEST problem is there's seemingly NO way to use the keyboard to CUSTOMIZE the keys! For those confused, here are the keystrokes that're applicable: WASD - Move G - quick attack T - recruit Y - heavy attack H - Jump U - Special I - Block If you were to put your hands on your keyboard, this setup is AWFUL! I wanted to customize my keyboard to make my own setup, but NOTHING I do will change these keys!!! It's like I'm stuck with it!!! A MANUAL WOULD BE NICE!!! Or even BETTER, why not update the text as you play to whatever the keyboard shows? The game could ask me if I'm using a keyboard, or a game pad prior to starting the game. It's ridiculous that I'm playing a game that looks SO MUCH FUN, but I'm limited to some half-assed confusing programming! Wayforward, UPDATE YOUR GAME and FIX THIS!!! It wouldn't even take that long to do so!!!!
Yeah same, I was looking forward to play this day 1 with an online buddy, but seeing as it's only local coop I'll just wait till it's on sale and buy it to play it by myself..
@@hbombz0093 Yeh there are apparently ways to make it work, but I'm not gonna work to implement something that should clearly be part of the base game alraedy.
@@derakino999 they are from the same universe. River City Ransom takes place in modern times. Double Dragon is supposed to take place in the near post apocalyptic future.
@@vguyver2 I know. Those two series have always referenced each other. Well, it's more one-sided than anything as i've yet to remember a Kunio character appear on a DD title
@@derakino999 Indeed. I can't think of any character from Kunio that popped on over though they both did use the "Dead or Alive" theme of Double Dragon. Also, I meant to reply to Elliot, my bad. Now that I think about it, their Dodgeball/Soccer games also take place in the same universe. It came out here in the US as Nintendo World Cup back in the day.
Just bought this game on sale today and I love it! I've always loved the River City style of brawler and this really embellished on that style. It's a lot of fun to play too!
There are some issues, the map full of enemies even when playing solo, heal never drops, and character move so slowly, The most stupid thing is control, I don't have key binding (paying for that price and I don't even can have key binding???), and have to double tap arrow keys to move faster (when I have to move fast, it is urgent, right? so how did I have the time to double tap?).
