Once upon a time..... we had van clubs which consisted of groups of local custom vans. During warmer months, as a club we would travel all over the Northeast (much like you're doing here), we called these travels "gigs". A couple times a year other van clubs from all over the US would organize a meet at an event we called "The Nationals". It was like Woodstock for vans, where thousands of like minded individuals would meet to show their skills, exchange concepts, have shows and competitions. (Did I mention the food was GREAT?) They became and were family affairs. If you ever had an issue traveling (anywhere) you could contact that local club and mass assistance showed up in force to resolve whatever issue existed (mechanical, legal or just passing through)! Heck, they would bring you to their home to stay as long as was necessary! It was the most awesome community I ever had the privilege of experiencing! Ever hear the phrase "Keep on Trucking", the vanning community owned that! Sadly, over a period of years inflated gas prices and such, it kind of just faded away. Vanning offers you a sense of freedom few will ever understand, stay safe and..."Keep on trucking"!

Michelle, I loved you video, will you be going to the March meet up? I will be there and would love to meet you. Your set up is so nice and your fur baby is precious. If you won’t be there in March I hope to meet you soon. I’m a little nervous about this trip because my van is not really finished but I’m coming to meet everyone and learn about Van life and get some ideas for my van. I, too, became emotional at this meetup. To me, it’s not a meetup, it’s a retreat. There is a sort of spirituality about it. Making the poignant connections and seeing others make them is awe inspiring. You can feel the love and support from these amazing women💞
