Love this channel for all of the new tomb raider remastered content. The only thing I wish for is an explanation on how this level has 2 main paths. You skip ahead and don't show which path you head down.

he starts with the left path and then from Pickup 16 he jumps back over to the right path for the pickups and then jumps back after getting all of the right paths pickups

I followed this guide to get all secrets/pickups and figured I’d have to start from the split again to get the “Monkey Trouble” trophy (had a save from the split) but surprisingly it still popped thank god lol

I despise games that force you to make decisions, not only that, but to complete the level you have to discover borderline-glitches in the map.

the game is designed so that you can complete the level through either path. You don't need to backtrack or use glitches. All pickups guide is only for obsessive completionists like myself. There's no achievement for all pickups in this game. Only all secrets, and that can be easily achieved on the left path.

@@courage936 this one does as well. I beat it as a 9 year old. If you're a completionist and complain about the difficulty, that's a skill issue. Again, you don't even have to backtrack, you'll get the achievements without all pickups. It's actually impossible to get all pickups in this game, even with glitches.

i was talking about pickups to begin with, in 1998 when internet wasn't mainstream, urban legends were all you had to confirm if you collected every pickup in a level (when possible), the fact that you can't pick up everything in a level is usually what makes OCD completionists tick excuse my "skill issue" my 9 year old prodigy master

Why do all the guides for this level take the left path? It makes it really awkward if your going for all pickups and the monkey temple trophy

I made the mistake of taking the path to the right (after blue diamond) @5:30 😢 This led me to only being able to find one of the key things, not being able to continue; I had to restart the level from the beginning.

I have not been able to make that jump around 11:10. I tried the tank and modern controls.

I was only able to make that jump and algo to come back with modern controls. Mastering jumps like these with tank controls is a pain.

I was able to get to the platform a bit closer. I did use the modern controls to get back but it was a pain in the ass to do so. You don't even HAVE to get that one. You can still get the achievement since you are not meant to get crystal on that alternate path. Same with the Madubu Gorge level. No need to get the crystal on the alternate path (boat from under the hut).

@@Magnum_Opus_1124 Is this confirmed that those crystals don't count? Some achievements do include backtracking to the alternate path, like the additional secret in south pacific to get all secrets (coastal village I think). PS. I did manage to do both those jumps on tank controls in the remaster, so it's still possible.

To get through on the way there, I tried more than 100 times hahaha, I almost gave up, until I managed to do it. On the way back it was quick, a maximum of 5 or 6 attempts. The fact is that Tomb Raider 3 is an exaggeratedly difficult game, I remember playing TR 1, 2, 3 and 4 at the beginning of the 2000s, and this third one was the only one that I didn't like so much and I stopped in the middle, because everything in the game it was always very complex: map, paths, finding collectibles, getting the jumps right, excess stones, forks, path options, snakes and difficulties. And I'm a fan of the saga, TR 1, 2 and 4 are masterpieces. I think this TR 3 almost impossible to complete with all the pickups and secrets without the help of a walkthrough.

But some of the harder jumps are cut out. Like I am trying to figure out the one after secret 4... I was thinking too much into it. Just run and jump to the slippery ledge against the far wall, right side, as u come out of the secret. >.>
