River House: Setting A Frame Rafters, lathe and Metal (tin) Roof Got the trusses up on the A Frame Cabin I’m building, coming along great! Preciate y’all!
When my dad built his A frame I was 15 and I was the crane. Block and Tackle attached to a tree and up it went. The last few frames were rough because that end was 12 feet off the ground as the lot sloped. We also hand dug the holes for the piers which are telephone poles. That was 1983 and he still lives there today. I sent him this video and we had a good laugh about being cheap and winging it 🤣🤣
Jeff says “It will take me right off the top of there cause I won’t let go of that metal, it’s to expensive!” You are a dying breed my friend. The houses always look awesome!
Mr.Barron, you are a house buildin machine truly something you like to do and do it well thank you sir for sharing your house builds with us we preciate y’all 🙏
I am saving up for my first house and was wondering would it be better to buy a structure kit and build off of it or starting everything from scratch ?
The satisfaction that you must get from building your own house, must be such a wonderful feeling. You’re actually making me think that I too could throw one up next week!! Thank You for that ❤️
Trying to get a build er in Crossville tn Have all materials for a 30ft x30 5inchs AFRAME as we speak if anyone licensed and bonded would like this opportunity let me know😊😊1000 square ft
Appreciate You, Jeff!!!.... Your doing a damn fine job on your "A" Frame river cabin. You did a remarkable job on Hanna's house. Not only is it functional, but it is also very well thought out. Sincerely, the old Montana cowboy, & also a Vietnam Vet.
Hi, I'm a young doctor from Texas, I have a 15-acre up in the mountains in the Dominican Republic and I'll build an A-frame 24 x 34. with friends It's Truly inspiring to do this on your own.
Thanks Jeff , you're videos are amazing. Man I don't know where you get your energy , but you keep us entertained and educated. Got my Jeff and Hannah Barron fix . Thanks again for your videos , God bless and stay safe.
Drove my way from Maryland down into Tennessee; it was blowing everywhere! Good you had your nephew help out otherwise we’d probably seen you fly by holding on to that metal. Anywho, she’s looking great. Let’s hope that river don’t get no higher. Don’t want to noodle cats out from under the house. I’m imagining a small deck up front where y’all be frying up fish, swapping stories, counting stars. Gonna be good. God bless, thank you for sharing sir. Preciate y’all!
You da man! Talented builder, carpenter and etc. I'm an old man and don't do this any more, but I still appreciate the work and skill involved. Papa Bob in MO.
You say it took 2 hours to set the trusses and I’m telling you 2 days later I’m still in awe. That’s no kids cubby house that’s a serious structure. Beautiful home on a beautiful river I’m really enjoying watching your build Thank you for sharing Love your work
Dude, this is so impressive. If you've ever worked in the trades, you know how hard this would be to do by yourself. Kudos to you. You've inspired me to do the same up on my piece of land in the mountains.
Thank you for showing the progress of the build, I'm kinda learning from your videos! I'm interested in building a similar A Frame on 10 acres soon. Keep up the great work.
When I was young going to camp at Stoney Glen in the Lake county Ohio. I noticed cabins this style were popular. They can handle the ❄️🌨️ lake effect and the insides are beautiful
I built a 14× 42feet cabin in the woods in SC, low wet area with a small creek about 150 feet from back door, built it almost 3 feet off the ground, the higher the better if you live in a wet area. Great job, I always wanted to build small, like 16 x 20 A frame little building.
I need more than 8 minutes of this guy. Jeff, you sir are a machine. When they ask if you were stuck on an island who would you want with you? I know my answer..
Very nice 👍😎 You did great handling that metal roofing. It's not an easy task. Especially with that pitch. Beautiful location... Looking forward to seeing more! Blessings for a great Easter Weekend 🙏 From Georgia, USA ✌️😎 Aquila Uwohali 🪶🪶🪶 🦅
I've always dreamed of building my own A frame and using a metal roof. I also planned the second story like yours to be built into the rafters. But, for me it will remain a dream because I am also 70 and don't have the health or the body I used to have.
We use to have an aframe in western Maryland as a vacation home. I loved it and would love to build one and retire in the northern neck of Virginia. I need a kit and a builder!
Home Depot used to sell something similar for about $9,000. I helped build three of them just south of the Grand Canyon in a town called Tuysayan, AZ. I was a plumber at Grand Canyon National Park, so I did the heat and plumbing. Because there weren't any water mains or fire departments, the people building had to go out of pocket. Home Depot would provide a credit line for the kit; the rest was sweat equity.
Well done that man 🍺😎👍 I always wanted to build a home, short of a lottery win I think it's just a dream? If I won tomorrow I'd follow your design it's fantastic.
