PVD Physical Vapor Deposition. Cool technology. I’ve use it to apply TiN to steam turbine blades for extended wear resistance. Extremely tough stuff. If I remember my conversation with the guys at the PVD shop we used, the gases used can affect coloration.
I agree, best variant of PM2. But, won’t get sucked into the Spyderco sprint/exclusive crap. I have a few (teal DF2, Meerkat, M4 Jade PM2) but not chasing those damn things around. I could get another manual MT Socom Elite for what they ask on the secondary, not that those are easy to find either.
John Gordon they don’t list that knife anymore for some reason. I had it on my wish list and accidentally deleted it. I went to find that knife listing again but couldn’t.
Love the color scheme! I've seen one with a broken blade, apparently from just being flicked open. Break was from the Spidey hole, straight down to the blade edge. Saw the exact same failure in a grey Para3. Puzzling, as both were essentially unused. Heat treat too high?
Spyderco knives are priced too high based on the materials used. Mostly hype, my Ontario Rat 1 in D2 for $38 is a much better value and will do everything this knife will do.
