According to tests performed by Shawn Houston and Outpost 76, these are run at 64 Hrc!! Which makes them absolute beasts! Finally ordered mine today, can’t wait! I also want a Native 5 Salt with Magnacut. Spyderco is a really good brand. 🕷🕸
Agreed; the PM2 is simply a modern classic. I don’t think its form and function will ever become obsolete, and it’ll be around long after trendier designs have been forgotten.
Very true. This knife has really stood the test of time. It may not have the coolest mechanism or the latest features but it’s a knife that works and works very well!
My favorite. Like you, I have been carrying daily for many years (or decades) and have an extensive collection with some knives costing 3 - 5 times what the P2 does. Since adding this to my collection, I’ve found it in my pocket more and more, to the point where it is in my pocket over 90% of the time. Even owning several Spyderco P2s, this particular model (Cruwear Micarta) is THE one I carry most. (In this category, I’ve got to throw some love out there to my ZT 0770cf)
Just bought this same knife to replace my PM2 Tanto which was stolen. I miss that PM2 tanto, but this one is cool too, although the flex on the micarta near the backlock makes it feel a bit cheaper. Also picked up my first Shaman, and wow, it's amazing too!
Congrats on your pick up and sorry to hear about your knife being stolen. I lost a Chris reeve Sebenza and still hurts to think about it. I honestly haven’t noticed the flex of the micarta near the lock area but I can see where you’re coming from.
Really great presentation bro. You made perfect sense for the average guy who's surrounded with all kinds of other options in the same class but cost a ton more. Let's remember, our economy is falling apart. There has never been a more important time to spend smart. Your logic made sense to me. Bravo Para 2.
Thank you Tom! I appreciate your thoughts! I feel that the PM2 is just a rock solid choice for anyone who wants a great performing, versatile knife that won't break the bank and will probably last a lifetime.
I just got my first Spyderco and this is it I hope I made the right choice that mannix was really talkin to me and I'm a Benchmade guy so I love the axis lock
Pm2 is better than a manix for carry. Takes up less pocket room, and I prefer the compression lock wayyy over sypdercos lock on the manix. You made the right choice!
Mine held an edge a long long time. It was my camp go to knife so it did everything from food prep to light wood processing and even swam with it on a few occasions.
I've watched this video many times over the past week as I'm torn between getting the PM2 with Micarta or G10. I'll be using it a lot for food prep. I absolutely love the Micarta with Cruwear, but I'm wondering if a PM2 with S45VN would be better around water, food etc. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Great video by the way.
Thanks! I would def go with the s45vn as that will handle food prep and water a little better than Cruwear. Though in real world use, it’s not a dealbreaker. I love patina and the character it gives a knife so I’d still choose Cruwear overall. Cheers!
@@these7seas Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I was surprised when you related all the conditions your Cruwear blade has been through..lakes, dirt etc, and still held up. I'm definitely leaning toward the crucarta as I also like a nice patina to develop over time. I'll just make sure to keep the blade clean/dry and oiled. Cheers.
Good question! I usually go to BladeHQ, DLT Trading, EKnives, Southern Edge, Knives Ship Free. The only deals I’ve experienced is the reward points you get as you buy knives.
It's an icon. All other knives are compared to it. Obviously, the knives like Koenig, CRK and Hinderer are more expensive for reasons other than form and function.
Disagree with the engaging with customers aspect. I want the PM2 in Tanto. They did it as a special release for Blade HQ and never met the demand since.
Holds up one of the best combinations of materials in a knife from one of the best knife brands in history "iS tHiS sTiLl gOoD". Fucking obviously. Knives made 20 years ago are still a solid choice for EDC. It's either clickbait (probably, cause people are shameless sellouts) or people are so spoiled with new products that they could somehow consider a Cruwear Spiderco to be a bad choice. Stupid either way.
Hey man I was wondering if you could help me? I've been trying to decide if I should buy the pm2 in brown micarda and cruwear steel or the manix 2 xl in brown micarda and cruwear steel? Which one should I buy?
Dang that’s a tough one. For me the PM2 is the perfect edc in terms of size, carry, and performance so I’m gonna lean towards this one. Also I like the compression lock a lil more than the ball lock.
@@asherrose6594 yeah for sure! I think the PM2 will fit very nicely in your rotation. The micarta Cruwear config is MY FAVORITE one. I’ve had several different PM2s but this config stands out by far!
