This episode is the last check on my river raccoon trapline. Raccoon movement was slow on this final check, but I still managed to put some fur in the boat. Trapping raccoons on the river in this manner is one of my favorite methods of fur harvesting, and this year's line did not disappoint. While it is time to move on to new adventures this season, I am looking forward to trapping raccoons on the river again next year!
Typically, my river raccoon trapline is a mixed bag endeavor. This held true for this season as I was fortunate to harvest a couple nice beaver. One such beaver was taken on this trip, as was the majority of the season's 'possum harvest (endearingly referred to as the 'silver fox'). A little variety always adds to the anticipation on each check.
