I normally do not care for driving videos, however you can make them interesting Sifat! Your inventiveness for finding new locales never ceases to amaze !
Thanks for the great tour of this neighborhood. It certainly is beautiful and serene along with all the greenery and some of the streets have middle median strips with trees that makes it all the grander.
You drove through the posh neighborhood of Fieldston. I would not categorize it as a diverse neighborhood, at least not in the sylvan part you drove through. Toward the southern edge of it you find Manhattan College with it diverse student body, many of whom live around there, along with more "normal" apartment buildings with diverse tenants. Carly Simon grew up in Fiedston and attended a school there, the Riverdale Country School, as did JFK. There is much more to Riverdale than Fieldsston; its other neighborhoods are North Riverdale (where I live), Riverdale, and Spuyten Duyvil.
54 minutes to show 15 minutes maybe less of the richest neighborhood in the bronx ..sorry but you should of started filming when you got to the bronx!!
Oh my gosh - fascinating!!! Thanks for the "squirrel alert"!! 🖍 I too, live in the thick of things; a very densely populated neighborhood in San Francisco (North Beach = a little Greenwich Villagey). When we were little, my parents bought a tiny house right outside of a posh neighborhood (Sea Cliff) so we could have dreams.... Your video gives us the same sort of beautiful dream.... 🏠
Good morning from Arizona. I really enjoy your drive throughs and walk throughs fo NYC. I AM WRITING TO ASK A FAVOR. I was born in the Bronx in 1944. I lived on 480 E 186th St. near Webster Ave and Park Ave. We were withing walking distance of Fordham U., PS 85, the botanical gardens , the Bronx zoo and Grand Concourse. Enroute to those areas we used to go through a small park called "scratch" park. The 3rd Ave EL was a block from us. I believe it was dismantled and torn down. If possible would you please do a walk through this area as when I view it from Google Earth it looks so different. I believe all the brownstone apartments we lived in have been torn down. I hope you can accomodate this request. Very truly yours, Martin Litzler
I’d love to see you do a tour of the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx, which is where I grew up. If you do a walking tour, you could take the 6 train to Westchester Square and then take the 40 bus to Bruckner Blvd. Throggs Neck basically begins right around there.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video as well as the others you have made. The drive over was very nice. However, Riverdale and the connecting Fieldston neighborhoods have beautiful huge mansions just like in Queens. Maybe next time you/we can explore just a tad bit more. There is a lot to see. Thank you for doing this video.
@42:52 all over Staten Island there are neighborhoods like this. It's the only borough where ALL of the neighborhoods are private houses on quiet streets.
Love that city. My wife & I visit whenever we can. I keep hoping something will bring apartment costs down so we could think about moving there, but I'm not holding my breath.
This is not true represent on of Riverdale. You miss the shopping areas, Broadway the longest street in New York State. Begin in long Island and end in Albany..You miss one of largest and most beautiful parks in New York State..Van Cortlandt Park..
I didn't know they have neighborhood like this in the Bronx, every time someone say Bronx or Brooklyn I have a headaches, I know they have nice neighborhood in Brooklyn my friend live in a big house not to far from Brooklyn college. Every times I'm watching the news there's a shooting in the Bronx and Brooklyn. Thats my headache!!
RIVERDALE is so vastly different from the "BOGGIE DOWN" South Bronx Hood (like DAY and NIGHT)!!!! Now you need to show the sections of the Bronx where the "REAL PEOPLE" live---PARKCHESTER, COOP City (neighborhoods within neighborhoods), etc. that reflect the true mosaic of the Bronx and the workers of NYC!!!!
The Bronx has nice neighborhoods? How in the world is that possible. I am 57 years old and I live in pennsylvania. I remember as a 20-year-old I would go to Jerome Avenue in the Bronx and buy the best marijuana that ever was grown. It came from Jamaica and I would buy it from a man named Monroe. I took many chances as a white guy buying drugs in the Bronx let me tell you, and I was very stupid to pull the stunts that I did back in the day. I am ashamed of all of it. I tell you this now because the Bronx has changed for the better.
City Island is part of the Bronx to, so next time please add it . It’s one thing to be Rich, but it’s better off to be Wealthy meaning own it, not rent it. Ok
Ok let me give you the real scoop as i live here currently and have been since 1983 not all of riverdale looks like that as you were mostly in the sub enclave of affluent fieldston..the neighborhood surrounding those houses are in for a rude awakening in the next 5-10 years as it catches up with the rest of borough as far as crime and lower standards for quality of life issues are becoming a new way of life for many of the old time residents..an influx of affordable housing and section 8 units have flooded this area..looks like throggs neck/country club area is now the only exclusive neighborhood in the borough
