Thank you. Just started watching and other sxs channels. My son and I are looking to get a side by side each. Looking for what setup would be for us. Definitely looking at enclosed trailer for hauling sxs and camping.

Yes, we’ve done a few updates since this video. Ivy branch was one of them. We also did a video on what we carry with us on the trail. We show the inside of the trailer there’s too.

Cargo trailer is the way to go nowadays. They are strong, reliable, you can make it your own, they are wayyyy cheaper than a weak cereal box cheaply build RV and they hold their value for the longest time. Good choice 👍

@@tomshuey5511 this was a f250 6.2 gas. We now have a Cummins 3500 dually. The f250 gas did amazing for us though and would still have it if we didn’t upgrade to having 4 machines to tow.

Nice trailer. Put a mini split ac unit with a heat pump. You can run the whole thing with a Honda 2200. Super quiet and efficient. The black trailer in your video has one.
@TheCanAmCrew
@TheCanAmCrew 2 года назад
We thoughts about a mini split but the tongue on ours wasn’t long enough to accommodate one and be able to jack knife the trailer for backing up. We should have gotten an extended tongue but is what it is for now. I’ll come up with something haha. For now we added s portable ac.
@rolandrockstarmega1299

@@TheCanAmCrew mount it higher on the tongue to clear the truck. You won't regret it. I have a 40 ft toter that I installed one in.the heat pump works awesome. I run my whole rig including my hot tub with a honda 2200.

@@davidedwards5474 yes it's big enough for a mini split.get the extended run cap for the Honda. Should run for 24 hours.i just use a 5 gallon gas can with the hose from the extended run cap put in it.
@rolandrockstarmega1299
@rolandrockstarmega1299 2 года назад
@@davidedwards5474 you would need the 3500 to run the traditional rv ac. Plus the mini splits has a heat pump if you get the right one.

Like your cargo conversion. Have one I built my self and really like it. The wife and I both have RS1s and could use conventional toy hauler. Just wanted you to know I tried portable a/c myself and it just wasn’t enough. Those things put out as much heat as they do cool. I went with a OLMO brand mini-split. Got if from Amazon for $699. It works awesome!!! Keeps things as cool as I want in the hottest weather and also does an awesome job heating in cold weather. If you have problems ditch it and go with a mini-split. You won’t be sorry

So far the portable ac unit has worked out for us. I think it’s 8000 btus, we have 1” insulation the whole way around as well so that might help us some. We haven’t used it on a very hot 90 degree weekend yet either so we shall see. Thanks for the info. We may go that route if this doesn’t work out.

How well would a 43’ toy hauler fit into the campground?
@TheCanAmCrew
@TheCanAmCrew 2 года назад
It would be tight. I am just about 30 feet and I had a sxs length in front of my truck which is about 11 feet. You could probably back up a little bit more than I did but still gonna be real tight.

gave me some ideas since i have almost the same trailer. 28ft extra tall ceiling. i want to add AC as well to mine but thinking about hard mounting a ceiling unit. with what you added in the front forcing you to sit your units further back, does that cause you any sway issues when pulling? im trying to figure out how i can fit 2 trails and a x3 in mine still.
@TheCanAmCrew
@TheCanAmCrew 2 года назад
I wished I would have gone this route sooner. It’s perfect for us. I didn’t want to put an ac unit on top just because of possible leaking issues down the road. The can ams are centered over the wheel wells and we added all that weight to the front with kitchen cabinets and shower stuff so the weight hasn’t changed any front to rear. It pulls great and still retains the 10-15% tongue weight they recommended.
