In the Philippines majority of the people are peace-loving and God-fearing. Despite the difficulties they face people sing to ease their pain and Filipinos always smile.
Imagine now a stage in an enlisted men's club in Vietnam the Central Highlands 1970, the doors off the back of the stage opening out to the dark sky of the monsoon rain, the thick air inside pushed around by the ever present ceiling fans, the Filipino band of the USO troupe playing hard into the dark night over the roar of the water hitting the corrugated roof, transporting all those inside just for a little while from where they are. and so I find myself crying remembering that night Thank You. God Bless You and your music.
By the rivers of Babylon where he sat down and there he wept when he remembered Zion, for the wicked carry us away, captivity requires from us a song. How can we sing King Alpha’s song in a strange land? So let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in your eyes, oh Abba Linda Rondstat recorded this in the 70’s , have always loved it!
Beautiful. I love Rivers of Babylon which is about the longing of the Jews for freedom from slavery in Babylon. I discovered this video now, and I tear up with the Jews fighting the Evil Hamas and their supporters around the world.

It's a great world. This ancient Hebrew poem of lament about exile is made popular by a Reggae group from Jamaica and now picked up on the other side of the world. Their rendition of this piece made me grin from ear to ear.
Kaanindot paminawon sa rondalya. Daghan kaau ta mahinumdoman, apil ang mga apohan ug kaparyentehan nga mga musikero nga nitaliwan na. Ipadayon ang pag-presirbar ani nga klase nga musika.
Thank you for sharing your talents and gift of music. Rivers of Babylon so fitting for Christmas Day 2023. You brought tears to my eyes. Im so glad I found you today. Peace from Australia.
I used to hear this rondalla during bario fiesta..hard to get the same nowadays.. Remembering this kind of comparza in front of my parent house. My father used to play rodalla. None of my siblings inherited the skill..nice to hear 🎉🎉🎉
Beautiful! Music is an universal language that can bring people together in a midst of tumult of despair. Thank you musicians and peace to all. Watching from Washington 🙏❤️
Well done, that was beautiful. I always remember when Boney M brought this song out . Everyone was singing it. Takes me back 20 odd years or moor like 30. ❤

For some reasons, this reminds me of this: "Si Pilemon, si Pilemon namasol sa kadagatan. Nakakuha, nakakuha og isdang tambasakan. Gibaligya, gibaligya sa merkadong guba- Ang halin pulos kura, ang halin pulos kura, Igo lang ipanuba..."♫ LOL !! .
I’m residing in Australia now but I just love listening the music using our traditional filipino instruments. Hopinggthat you’ll pass on your talent playing these instruments to younger generation…
