Soyeon wrote and composed this song. It was nominated for a KMA which is the Korean equivalent of a Grammy. It's a pretty big honor that a self produced song was able to get so recognized.

She did. As the story on “Queendom” the producer team couldn’t finish the final song for them on time so Soyeon put this one written by herself for the final.

Well, that's the thing about (G)I-DLE. You can never expect what their music would sound like, whether you compare it to their previous songs or other girl groups', cause Soyeon once said that she doesn't like to make the same songs and she obviously made that clear through the songs she's made so far and the stages she's directed. And btw, she directed this mv. Plus, though you may not love every song and mv from them (cause as you said they're on their own lane), at least you appreciate the effort they put into everything they do, cause there's research and hard work behind it. Great video as usual ;)

Or the concepts, i didnt know much about (g)-idle before queendom and went in watching for mamamoo. I knew of (g)-idle when they came out and soyeon before they came out from unpretty rapstar and liked them. But queedom gave me a whole new appreciation for them and soyeon.

I get what Dizz is saying the song is fierce the song is incredible but it also doesn't feel like a song to listen to on a daily basis. They wrote it specifically for a competition show called Queendom and that's why I think it does show how talented they are but it was made for shock value more than play ability.

Sims Rock 99 This, I have yet to listen to Lion like on a daily and I find when I want to I just watch the music video instead. Cuz the song is just better to me with the video. If that makes sense.

I listen to the song all the time. And Koreans listened to it more than any other song coming from Queendom by far. I think its more of a preference that you may or may feel like a song to listen to on a daily basis.

When Monroe asked if Soyeon produced this song HECK YES! She produced all their songs. Their vibe is really spectacular. And you mentioned dreamcatcher which makes me more looking forward to other vids of yours. Pls do react Loona- So what DreamCatcher- Scream Taeyeon- Spark IZ*ONE- Fiesta All of this are bop. Icons!!!! Soyeon is definitely the next generations female producer. The amount that she writes for this group is insane. Also I am so happy that Monroe mentioned "OG Vibe" because this is what I was just about to get too. This actually reminds me of 4minute - Volume Up, (I lowkey see you cube entertainment... trying to fill the void of 4minute and B2st). The aesthetic a little bit had me reminiscing about my girls when I first watched this video and I agree with the dreamcatcher hook which was mentioned by Dizz, their is indeed something in those chords that kind of makes me also think about them as well as B2st/highlight for having a dark kind of aesthetic. I also thought this was the song of the year for 2019 after I had watched their queendom performance. I still to this day think its probably their best song to date and you will know if you watch that performance cuz Lord have Mercy on My Soul rookies just did that.

LION is nominated for Best Pop Song in the Korean Music Awards (KMA) which are the equivalent to the Grammys for Korea. I would love if you reacted to the other (G)I-DLE title tracks Hann and Senorita, also Put it straight nightmare version, they are so versatile and so amazing, thank u for reacting to them!

Desiree Heremaia not sure about her but on the idol room episode with them, all of them pronounced it without the g during their greeting. and even one of the hosts of the show asked how to say their name and soyeon said without the g is fine. but you can also pronounce it with the g, so it doesn’t really matter which lol but i’ve heard it without the g more often.

@@ameliahoward9861 They always introduce themselves as aideul (idle) when they speak Korean because saying GEE aideul would literally make no sense. However, they have often pronounced the g when speaking English. As recent as yesterday, they released a short promotional video directed towards Mexican Nevies that promoted their tour and they were speaking exclusively in English (the video had spanish subtitles) and they pronounced the 'g'.

LION by (G) I-DLE is a critically acclaimed song. It was also nominated at KMA, a prestigious Korean music awards (equivalent to the Grammys) . And to think of that it wasn't even a comeback song. It's just a song for a survival show Queendom. You should read the lyrics and watch their Queendom Performance of LION 😊

This song was specifically for their competition in queendom. When they started filming the show she was already started writing this song months before the final and she arranged all their performance on queendom from remixing their songs theme to choreographing their dance. Watch their queendom performance please its one of the best including mamamoo💕

Soyeon writes and produces all of the title tracks, and on their previous mini-album, she wrote all but one track, which was written by another member, Minnie. Her talent is awe inspiring. Since you all mentioned Dreamcatcher in the video, they did just have a new comeback called "Scream" that you all should definitely check out. It's an amazing track from them.

Great reaction! I've been waiting for this! And.. Monroe...you are ABSOLUTELY correct! Soyeon is the entire mastermind of the song and video. She did everything on her own, she presented it to the other 5 girls for approval because she cares a lot about their input and opinion. The girls loved it. And as a group the came up with the concept and costumes. ^__^ This song was created for the show QUEENDOM as the finale song. So the QUEENDOM live performance is absolutely beautiful + mind blowing! The song and theme is what actually fit the finale show the best even though MAMAMOO took the Queendom crown with Destiny (Also a Smash..its so good). But Lion stuck to the Queendom theme so it was beautiful! ALSO...Dizz...you will end up loving this song eventually. Everyone either loves it or stays back a bit from it. And everyone that didnt playlist in the beginning after listening a few times they end up obsessed with it. Lol!!
