****Disclaimer*** Negative Review**** Riverside does not offer background music for my podcast. You literally can hear a pen drop due to the fact that my podcast is completely audio. It’s slow and takes FOREVER to upload recordings. I wish Spotify would have never integrated with Riverside. Respectfully. My suggestion would be to incorporate the same features that Spotify has, but enhance them and add new features that you believe would be helpful. It may also help to connect with Podcasters to see what we would need from your platform so that you can BE the #1 platform for podcasters instead of assuming that your platform is the better option. I hope this feedback helps the improvement of your company. - CAN CAN
You said it,@@lighthousewomenswellnesscenter the integration was horrible, Riverside is offensively mediocre compared to what Anchor and Spotify for Podcasters used to offer and the biggest problem is exactly that: they don't offer background music integration and this is totally ridiculous, since that was THE BASE of Podcast Recording. I wonder who was the "smartass" that decided to shoot themselves in their own feet like that... I hope they read your comment and admit how stupid they were.
The tools for editing etc are not the issue; losing the Music+Talk feature destroys thousands of creator’s content. Teaming with Riverside is not a substitute for what is a truly unique feature.
I am facing the same issue. The ability to use Spotify's music library and have licensing covered was huge for me - I do a music podcast. I don't see how I will be able to continue my program without major changes.
@@bigblue4920 If you can, consider a switch to Mixcloud. It's not the same in that you won't have access to a huge song library; however switching will allow music to be played from your own catalogue.
The ability to easily add intro music and sound effects is essential please can this happen in time for the transition? Also, to be able to split sections of the recording and mute a participant's audio in that split would be incredibly helpful.
Super helpful. thank you. I will say I was looking for the recording right in Spotify for Podcasters and it's not there - only the Riverside studio option. First Anchor, then Spotify, now Riverside... I'm just learning and now have to keep up! Ugh. Thankful for this guidance though.
We did a webinar with Spotify that walks through all the changes, it may be helpful! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v_uWu70v_AI.htmlsi=9TR1TPlyc1bdYY4q
I'm getting very anxious about this switch from Anchor to Riverside. My podcast has always been audio-only and I don't see how I can easily add in transitions and I'm used to recording an intro and outro for each episode and easily add in the background music in Anchor. How can I add in the same transitions (I use Bongos) and background music (I use Valantis and Zeppelin for my intros and outros).
We understand the concern, and right now the Riverside editor will allow you to record those separate intros and outros, but we don't yet have a way to layer in background music. We know many users need this and we're working quickly to that end.
How do I add Background Music for my audio podcast on Riverside? - Can I import the Background sounds from Spotify for Podcasters (formerly known as Anchor)
Yes! You can record audio-only in the Riverside mobile app or from the desktop, and add background audio. You can see the editor in action here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7982JoMDsiI.htmlsi=94vMvbi3sGoAm8b8
I've been using Spotify's anchor app on my iphone to edit. I use Hn4Pro to record and then the app to edit. I go out to local businesses to interview them and then use the app to edit. Can I upload these audio recordings into Riversidefm? Also I have intros and outros that i've created with the same audio and music/sounds that my listeners have come to expect. Will I be able to keep these? And if so, how?
You can still upload those recordings to your Riverside Studio to edit! You can also import intro and auto music clips (mp3 files, etc.) into the editor and add them to the beginning, end, or splice in the middle of your recordings.
Since Apple only supports audio, how does Spotify handle that if the Spotify file is video? Do we need to upload manually to Apple, or will Spotify create/send the audio-only portion?
Spotify will create an audio-only version of the show for other podcast apps. You will need to submit the RSS feed for your shot to podcastsconnect.apple.com for your show to be available there. You can get the RSS feed link in Spotify under Podcast Availability (click the icon in the top right corner).
Correct, but you can make further edits by logging into your Riverside account, duplicate the edit and make more changes, then upload that as a replacement file int he Spotify for Podcasters dashboard.
Thanks for the info! I am wondering what type of video is best to upload to spotify - landscape or portrait? I thought it used to be landscape, but I think there were recent updates where they will be presenting portrait - is that correct? And, yea, if so, which one is best?
I’m really new to podcasting and had managed 3 episodes. Now you have taken away recording on the Spotify for podcasters app. It means that I cant add transition music or anything. The riverside app has literally no features on it and sounds awful. It’s such a shame that all this happened to being “comments” if we want comments, we have instagram. Like I really don’t get it
hi, every time i try to login to spotify for podcasters and click the “record with riverside button” i just get a black screen that says create episode at the top but nothing to click on. also, is recording only available on browser? i got the riverside app and it only has an option to upload an already recorded video but it doesn’t have a record button to start a new episode.
You do need to use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser to record, so be sure to login with either of those. And for the app, do you mean the mobile or Mac app? With those you should be able to record after logging in with your Spotify credentials.
I'm prepping an episode using a previously recorded interview on Zoom and an audio intro. Can you please show how to add a logo to appear in the background for the audio intro? Thanks so much!
Are you recording on mobile or desktop? If on mobile, we don't have an auto upload there yet, you'll need to upload manually, which you can still do from your phone. I show the process here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xOQNZqacdcA.htmlsi=D3kTl2T9EAFuUvg4
Are you recording / editing on mobile or desktop? We show the audio-only process end to end here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xOQNZqacdcA.htmlfeature=shared
we have not made it to the guest lvl just yet, near future, but i have a load of podcasts eps to make as a solo presenter/content creator until then. Riverside seems Guest&Video-focused. I also do Not have a workspace as larg to maintain a video presence, jus yet, near future possibly. Does Riverside hav tutorials Focused on Solo-Audio-rec+ post editing? (Solo-user based) thankyou
Riverside is great for solo recording as well! Here are some tips on that: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dbMHWULkIkQ.htmlsi=sWGmXaryGxN8IZgb
I have a question regarding recording a podcast episode on my phone via audio. Once im finished recording my podcast episode on my phone. Would i be able to export the audio from that episode to spotify for it to be published or will i have to use a computer to do so?. Thank you for your time
Technically you can export the file to your local device / files app and then upload via the web there, but it will be easier to manage that on the desktop. Will cover this in a video soon!
Question….if I am using my iPhone and/or iPad to record an interview in person…can I utilize this platform via the audio and upload the video from my iPhone/Ipad? Just starting out and trying to wrap my head around the video portion. I have a zoom H6, headphones etc…trying to tie it altogether.
We actually have an unreleased walkthrough for in-person hybrid recordings like you're describing. You can (secretly) watch it here! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SK1sygqMkR8.html
Hi, could you clarify if we would have access to keep and download the full video files in this free version? What other aspects are not provided in this free version? The riverside free version has a watermark, would there be any such thing we need to know beforehand?
You can download and keep the fully edited file you created with Riverside for free! The paid version allows you to download the separate, individual video and audio tracks specifically. Watermark removal is also a paid upgrade.
I tried logging onto riverside with the same account I have on spotify for podcasters and riverside on my ipad on the safari browser and it says that safari is not compatible and I'm asked to open on chrome and the option to create on riverside button is itself missing. Please help!
Hey there! On iPad you'll need to use the Riverside app to record, the iPad Safari browser doesn't support recording tools like ours. You can get the iPad app here: apps.apple.com/us/app/riverside-record-podcasts/id1554443872
@@Riversidefm I already use the app! I keep asking this but when is editing on ipad is launching? Is livestreaming only for paid plans? I saw it on your site!
How do I connect my Spotify and riverside account on mobile ? I record on my phone and I have both apps but it won’t let me connect them right now so I can continue with the podcast I already had.
so all those features for editing are available in different languages for example spanish ? so when you editing the content editing video need to understand the language
Yes, we support over 100 languages. You can see the full list here: support.riverside.fm/hc/en-us/articles/9173731506589-Which-languages-can-Riverside-transcribe
You can create a new episode directly from your phone or iPad! You can see the Riverside app in action here (and just sign in with your Spotify account): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NOG78R9k_Es.htmlsi=hnO1m1KSPS9OWjDz
Question, if we connect to your platform, are we only getting the 44.1khz sound quality? does anyone know what the quality of Spotify for Podcasters is? Or do we need to do the paid plan for 48khz?
You don't have to change anything in your account! Just login to Spotify for Podcasters and when you create a new episode, you should see the "Create with Riverside" option!
How do you add the intro and outro music like we used to be able to do in the previous editing platform that was integrated into spotify (anchor i think?)
If you enter the editor on a computer via the web, you can click the + icon at the beginning or end of the timeline to upload pre-recorded video clips! I show that and many other features here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Xinbxr1oy78.htmlsi=aIOV_FOoqHNDkyob
@@Riversidefm thanks bit that shows how to add sound beds to recordings done IN Riverside, I need to add it to an UPLOADED audio and when I open that uploaded audio there is no add music option anywhere? Incidentally I also can't click on the Uploads tab? Thanks
I never experienced such unlogical and slow software ever! Why, for example, does it automatically starts transcribing? It's really slow because of this!
@@Riversidefm Dekstop and mobile app...indeed it only starts after recording...but this is when you want to edit and it takes for ever before you can start because it is transcribing!
What browser are you using to try and record? We recommend Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, and due to browser limitations, Safari isn't supported. Also if you're on an iPad or iPhone, you'll need the Riverside app here: apps.apple.com/us/app/riverside-record-podcasts/id1554443872
Q: I got this error message, while I was already in Chrome. Incognito mode we don't yet support. Join from a regular Chrome browser instead. What could it be?
Hm what platform are you on, desktop or a tablet? If on an iPad or mobile device, you'll need to use the Riverside app here: apps.apple.com/us/app/riverside-record-podcasts/id1554443872
You can! Click the three dots in the top left area of the editor and you can copy the transcript. Or you can login directly to your Riverside account and download the transcipt per edit!
If your podcast published publicly? Also, have you submitted your RSS feed to Apple Podcasts? We go through that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SwjGD-gGLJ0.htmlsi=fkDmqwAUsMa69iCa
Yeah I been growing and this isn’t going to work. I’m pretty bummed about this. I got some really big guest coming and then this comes along. Ugh corporate greed strikes again
What has been done to creators on Anchor/Podcasters/Spotify should be considered criminal. Zero Customer Service for transition to the new platform, unless you like chat bots who can’t help you. Our clip library is just, poof, gone.
We recently did a webinar with the Spotify team to walk through all the changes and benefits, may be helpful! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v_uWu70v_AI.htmlsi=9TR1TPlyc1bdYY4q
@@Riversidefm you should have never started a transition to begin with. Spotify for Podcasters is great and you are eliminating all the user friendly features and pushes a video podcast when not everyone wants to video podcasts. Your platform is terrible and adds way more steps.
