Fishing, Camping, and Cooking in the Wild with my Dog Remi, a golden retriever puppy. In this episode of Angling Addicts PNW Remi and i are camping out / sleeping in my SUV riverside in a beautiful area in the forest. Up until recently i have been doing a lot of solo camping and fishing trips, but now that i have remi, i must say the fishing camping catch and cooking is much more enjoyable with a dog.
The river/stream we are fishing is full of wild trout so we are using barbless hooks and Berkley Gulp worms instead of live worms since bait is not allowed in this area, and we plan on releasing most all of the fish that we catch, minus a fish or two for our trout catch and cook.
I have found that these artificial worms actually work really well and have produced the same results for me as live ones.
This trip i decided to not bring the fly rod since it's a bit harder when i have remi at my side, so i'm using the basic setup for float fishing
8' Ultralight Okuma Guide Select Pro Rod
Okuma Ceymar TG-1000 Reel
4 gram bobber
a couple split shot and a bait holder hook
I plan on doing a lot more car camping, truck camping, suv camping, whatever you want to call it, especially as the Salmon and Steelhead fishing slows down and the trout fishing season ends.
I've been wanting to get out and do some camping in the snow but have never made it up to the mountain to shoot some videos. I think this Winter will be the one!
I appreciate you watching and i hope you enjoyed the adventure! See you on the next one
