If you can afford PPF I think its worth it to preserve your paint. Personally I wanted to spend my money elsewhere and since my truck is white you really dont notice the pinstriping from trails. I think rock sliders are a great add but definitely not necessary unless you are going to be doing some really challenging trails - I've been fine without them so far!
