Forest Edge - ESPECIALLY since they got rid of the light wood color in Ocean Coast. I was on the fence between the two for a long time, before deciding on Forest Edge. Then Rivian ruined Ocean Coast by removing the light wood (heck, if they had just used the mid-tone wood from Forest Edge it would be fine,) and I was so happy I stuck with Forest Edge. (Plus it meant my truck arrived sooner. It was a long enough delay waiting for Forest Edge!) But my truck is "Forest Green", so the vaguely-green interior works with it. With a "monochrome" truck, especially white, Ocean Coast might work better.
I might be a bit biased, but I LOVE the Ocean Coast interior even if it could be even better with a few small changes. Glad you like it as much as I do!
I love the ocean coast, and your color combo is exactly what I wanted. But I ended up getting silver / black for faster delivery. Did you sell your polestar yet? My husband has the polestar and he’s a small car guy. but he loves my rivian so much that hes been taking my rivian.
I feel differently regarding the look of the steering wheel. I think the contrast created by the two different colors makes it more interesting visually.
11k vin as well with OC. Totally agree. Said the same thing about the steering wheel. It should be all black. Never thought about the roof shade. Fits well. The seat color in the video is authentic. The camera shot looks like it has a filter but the seats are a very light gray with a slight bluish tint. Beautiful interior overall. Now add Netflix, RU-vid and Sirius for charging waits.
Kyle, I think that the first Rivian truck that I saw in the wild was yours, driving up Eisenhower in Loveland 4 or 5 months ago. Great looking truck and I think the style will age well. Will look forward to your future Rivians on your channel.
Fully agree that the airbag and headliner color should remain dark. It also increases production costs have 3 different color air bag modules and headliners. I predict Rivian will be making a change for 2023.
The light center on the wheel is why I opted out of Ocean Coast. It's even worse now that the light wood grain is gone. Love the light headliner but hate the wheel
Im very concerned about the Max Pack R1T not happening. I have a 1/19 preorder with a first half of 2023 delivery window. I’m also Ocean Coast and hopefully they switch to black pillars, headliner, and airbag cover.
I am a big fan of all of Rivian's interior colors: but Forest Edge has my top vote. I'm surprised that you two didn't see the appeal of the Compass Yellow exterior and Forest Edge interior. On the surface, I'll admit it seems like a horrible idea. But seeing actual photos of that combination, it looks really good! Have you seen the CY and FE in person and didn't like it? I still am conflicted about my perfect build, but it will have the max pack. 1) It's either Compass Yellow (CY shows the least amount of dirt and dust, and still stands out when on the road) with Forest Edge (I love the outdoor nature of the browns/greens, and I find it pairs well with CY). 2) Canyon Red with Ocean Coast is another phenomenal pairing! 3) The classic Rivian Blue with Black Mountain interior is a clean and ageless combination. What is everyone else's dream combination?

Rivian, please make steering wheels all black. The color matched air bags are seriously horrendous. Whoever thought of that should be removed from the design team! Also, please get grey speaker grills for the A pillar for Ocean Coast. I like the idea of getting rid of the lighter headliner too. Come on Rivian - simplify your assembly line!

I much prefer black headliners because it hides dirt and stuff easier. A guy at work has a Model 3 and has only had it about 4 or 5 moths and the passenger side headliner near the visor has make up smudges on it already. I do not understand why something you will be touching fairly regularly is such a light color.
Prefer the Light colored Headliner, gives cars a bigger feel. Black makes them more confined feeling. IMO… White with the Ocean “was” my combination, until I cancelled the order back in March before the announcement of the price increase. Was just too much out of pocket, in hind sight should of bought it and sold it for a profit. Oh Well.
So, have you looked into the smallest wheel size that can fit over the brakes? 19s? Id love to see some SCS F5s or nomads or fifteen52 on a rivian but afraid they dont go that big
Definitely need to limit all steering wheels to black. Would be even better if Rivian simplified their builds and only offered different colored seats while keeping everything else black.
I like the white interior, but unfortunately my kids would make that truck look like a shit box in less than a day. 😂. Got to stay with black interior.

The Ocean Coast looks great. You indicated the steering wheel and he'd lined should be black. It's not a bachelor pad and you and others have women in their lives, so having a matching color interior. Thanks for giving us your man card. Sure glad Rivian had actual interior designers.
That's not Ocean Coast - it's Black Mountain with light grey seats. They should change the name. The second the light wood was killed I went to Forest Edge.
