The charging amperage setting is good for when you're using a non-dedicated circuit to charge, or an older outlet. If you're on a circuit that's powering other things, using a lower amperage will ensure you don't trip a breaker. If the outlet is old, and not super trustworthy, a lower amperage will help ensure that the outlet doesn't get too hot and/or catch fire/melt. I've had to use that setting when charging on a 30A outlet with an EVSE that could draw 40A and didn't know have any setting to lower the amperage for the EVSE itself.
Extremely well made video, this should be the standard of these UI deep dives. This answered every question I had (needing to touch a screen for every action in the vehicle while it is moving with zero physical buttons, no carplay integration). Saves me a trip to even think about looking at Rivian.
Hey Stephen, very informative video! Looking forward to your next trip. I’m 8,000 miles into a 5 week road trip with my family in my Tesla Model Y. We drove from California to Florida. Headed home now.
Awesome deep dive on the new UI! Have you made any progress getting the roof “spoiler” (I think technically they are vectors) caps available to buy? Do you have 3D print files you would sell (I have a bambu X1 Carbon, not sure if that’s big enough)? I just picked up a lightly used iKamper Skycamp Mini 3.0 for my R1T, a goal I’ve had for a while in large part due to your content. I even had someone in a parking lot ask if the tent was made by Rivian because it fits so well on our trucks, and they wanted to recommend it to their friend with an R1T. Anyways, thanks for the thoughtful content you make, and hopefully these slick (niché) aero inserts will be available sometime soon!
Thanks Sid! The data for the spoiler closeouts is complete and I’m working with my friend James to get the them printed with his larger 3d printer(They are close to 400mm in length) Once we have something thats repeatable and reliable I’ll definitely be ready to start selling them👍🏻
@@ChargeOverland that’s awesome! I’ll definitely buy them when available, though honestly I haven’t noticed much of a range hit at all with the iKamper “backwards” (it just looks so much better, both aerodynamically and aesthetically, that it really seems like the right way if bed height mounting-on any truck, for that matter).
How do you avoid toll roads, ferries, etc with the navigation? I couldn't find any settings for these, and I can't believe such a basic functionality is missing. Please prove me wrong!
I think with recirculate you can heat/cool the cabin faster but this will trap humidity so the windows can fog up a bit after awhile. I generally just use outside air most of the time👍🏻
Hi, just one question ; for the music, is it possible, when you connect your phone via Bluetooth, to access your music library and play music without directly using your phone ?
