Rizeasu Marth is so clean and his edge guards were on point glad to see him putting in work with this character. Marth has always been one of my favorites over lucina just by the tipper mechanic alone and against a character like bowser his edge guards were nice.
Yeah I think Rizeasu is the best player to ever use Marth. Too many Marths do not use the confirms or edge gaurds he uses in such a consistent manner. He's going for Marth's consistent confirms and not just the hype ones. Nair 1 -> Dolphin slash is so freaking good and not even MKLeo was using that. Like it's so refreshing to watch a patient Marth with MU knowledge.
I still think people sleep on marth TOO much. Tippers arent everything and as long as you play to marth strengths its alot of MU's he does pretty well in, although Lucina may have more consistent and reliable hitboxes with her sword the kill potential of marth when he has good spacing, movement, and comfirms puts him above her. IMO. Doesnt make it easy though but the pay off is worth it. Thats why i still Main him and havent dropped him.
Same. Rizeasu even landed kill confirms that didn't require tippers. Nair 1 -> Dolphin slash was so good and he landed that consistently at ledge. Marth also has Nair 1 -> Up-Smash, and Sour down tilt -> imagination. He has really consistent confirms but players opt for the stray hits at high percents and that's why they lose. They lose so they blame Marth for it when the reality is that instead of performing a falling Fair on an opponent, they could use falling Nair 1 -> Up smash or something and win. I've seen it far too often and people always want to talk smack about it. Like I took games off of Mr. E's Marth and took a college team to a SSBU victory in my first season and people still want to write me off like some nobody. There's a reason why I can do what I do with Marth lol. I'm certain I can break out of pools at a major but I've never even been to a major in my life. For now I'm grinding Corrin online so he can get up to par.
Yeah I seen what you've done with marth as well and it's nothing to sleep on it takes ALOT of time and practice to get even his spacing down correctly and I'm right there with you Marth is a awesome character but he so much different than howbhe wqs in the past smash games, but i like him better this way you have to actually be good with him to actually make things happen. It's not like picking up pyra/mythra and doing dair to up smash. They did the same thing with corrin when ultimate first dropped though he/she was trash and didn't have a place in the Meta and they were wrong. It takes more than learning just a character to be good in a game you need to learn, mechanics, MUs, and player vs player MU's in order to be good at this game and grow as a player. Another thing I don't like is when players see top players as the piller for a character to be good or bad. I know characters top players choose most of the time are good in their own right, but just because that top player or any top player loses with that character or makes bad decisions with that character at times doesn't mean that character is bad. Like recently mkleo has been playing Roy and while he's been doing decent there are times where he messed up with air dodges or even spacing and things. Does that make Roy bad? No it just means he made a bad play is all. All I'm saying is whatever character someone chooses in the game comit to it and put the time and effort in and you will see results. I usually go to Xanadu in MD/VA but because of life and having to be an adult(work) I haven't been able to be on a consistent schedule to keep going and playing online is challenging to put it in a nice way but I still play when I can. I would love to play against you on wifi someday it would be fun.
@@Spyder-MarthYou can't break out of a major offline. Youve been to locals and it's all 0-2 with some 1-2 records. Just humble yourself because those high level players take it easy on you when they realize how garb you are.
I like how the Marth VODs always get super popular. It goes to show that a lot of viewers *want* to see him being played at top level. He is so enjoyable to watch. Too bad Rizeasu is now scared to use Marth in bracket (he mentioned this on Twitter) because Marth is "difficult." Well, the Byleth didn't help at Kagaribi so maybe this will finally convince Rizeasu to just push his main. His Marth was playing so much better and he actually lost to people his Marth would beat. Knowing how people are, though, I doubt we will se Marth used in a major anymore. Even Ignaize is playing Lucina from the looks of it. Marth fans are not happy right now.
@@eddielin1997 yeah Marth was always his main according to him and the rankings. However this changed a couple of months ago and now he mains Byleth. Same happened with Ignaize except he plays Lucina.
@@eddielin1997 Marth was the character he would use against the better players at first, even if the MUs were losing to most. He even thought Marth had no losing MUs at one point. He was that confident in the character, especially after he won a regional. But after that he didn't win a major. I think he's just tired of not winning majors but I think the reason why isn't Marth, but because he plays far too many characters to make them all work. Yeah he gets to top 64 a lot but he never made top 16 at a major in ages.
Rizeasu defeated Hero's Bowser with MARTH by excessive Edge-guarding and ledge trapping is *exactly* what I do lol. Marth has much better frame data than Bowser so he overwhelms him offstage quite easily. Not to mention how easy it is to farm percent and kill Bowser when he is offstage. Also those Nair 1 into Dolphin Slash confirms at high percents is exactly what every other Marth player is missing in their arsenal. That confirm is so reliable but I don't even see Ignaize or MKLeo go for it. Meanwhile Rizeasu goes for it whenever he doesn't get an early kill. He even landed Dair -> F-Smash Tipper for a kill. Idk why people act like Marth hard loses to Bowser. Rizeasu didn't lose to Hero's and even beat his Bowser in a regional *before Marth was buffed.* I myself never lost to Bowser either. At best it's an even MU but I still think it's in Marth's favor due to his overwhelming frame data. I'm glad we have video evidence of Marth's confirms still working well on Bowser. Amazing gameplay by Rizeasu.
That is a pretty big hot take. Rizeasu is just exceptionnaly good at the mu. Also, although hero lost to him offline, he beat rezeasu last time they fought in tournament (as well as a couple times in online tournaments). I think marth struggles to hit tippers way too much against bowser, and bowser has amazing moves like fair nair and up tilt to antiair marth before he gets to use his aerials at all. Bowser's speed can also be annoying for marth as it makes him harder to keep out at a distance. Especially since bowser is just as fast if not faster than marth.
@@AssassinKillswitch Eh, not really. Hero has it on even on his last mu chart and he has beaten proto's lucina in the past.So it's probably not losing for bowser. However, lucina is much harder for bowser than marth. Because lucina does not have to worry about tippers and deals consistent knockback and damage. She's much better at killng bowser consistently.Meanwhile, marth struggles to land tippers on bowser because of his huge size, so he does minimal damage and really struggles to kill bowser a lot of the time.
@@Roman-ck5wf well you can disagree but as the actual Marth player who never lost to a single Bowser in any bracket yet, I'm still gonna say Marth/Bowser is even. Until I get hard farmed in the MU consistently I'm not gonna say Marth hard loses it. I genuinely believe people just don't know what they are doing in this MU because for the history of Ultimate I've never had an issue with it. Like if you're gonna slap Lucina in Even than Marth is even at best as well. Just gotta space differently and actually use your confirms + edge gaurd + take advantage of Bowser's weight and combo the crap out of him with sour -> tipper confirms. Rizeasu does this so consistently at top level and that's why he is the best Marth by a long shot. Not to mention his amazing fundamentals. And sure he may have lost to Hero before but he can still beat him now and he *has* beat him. Just because you lose against someone doesn't mean the MU automatically sucks. Light is losing to Shadic recently but nobody is saying Fox now hard loses to Corrin now are we?
@@Spyder-Marth I still respectfully disagree on your opinion of the matchup but if you never lost to a bowser in bracket, i can understand that you feel this way about it. Afterall our opinions on matchups are highly influenced by our experience so yeah
