I found RJD2 on the forecast skateboarding video with Paul Rodriguez this whole skate video change my life forever and my love for music grew because of the amazing songs in this video. Blessed 🙏🏽
In 2010 I was a hardcore emo kid. One night I saw an ad for RJD2 on Limewire and looked him up on RU-vid. This was the video I saw. I stayed up until 3am watching videos and listening to his music. No joke by the end of the week, all the emo music was cleared off my MP3 player.
I've watched this like a thousand times.. Nothing else quite represents such a great philosophy of life. Whatever you are, own it. Reform it, make it fantastic. But you have to own it all.
i fell in love with this song while working at macy's. this song was on the soundtrack in the juniors dept...and when i heard it i wouldn't leave the dept until it was over. great song!
I've been on crutches for a week and I have been working a hard labor job that requires a ton of upper body strength for 6 years and this shit is HARD! I can't begin to imagine how endurance this guy has.
"Bill Shannon (1970) is an American artist who resides in Brooklyn.[1] Shannon holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.[2] Born with a degenerative hip condition[3], he developed a way to express himself through dance and skateboarding on crutches." straight from wiki, it has good references and everything!! its odd i know but true
google is AMAZING. i saw this video 10 years ago, forgot the artist could only remember the melody. i googled "crutches guy city video" and this was the first result. THE FUTURE IS NOW.
RJD2 is brilliant. One of the best producers of all time. Video works so good with the track. One of my favorite videos. When i see a piece of work like that i'm concerned that there are stil people who know how to behave themselves, how to live and how to make music. Much love to RJD2 and all Defjux
One of the best videos ever... beautiful lyrics and perfect video to go with it. I wonder how many takes they took to shoot the really long scene starting at 0:37
This song still invades my mind from time to time. That is a good thing. HOW does this magic only have 457k views!? I've always thought this video was genius.
I think people with physical disabilities would come after this video, And rightly so. I mean come on, a dancer who doesn't Even use the crutches to support his weight dancing with crutches? Really? Now give me someone who actually dances on crutches while not using both legs, THAT would be DOPE AF
@@timofreeman4574 "Bill’s contributions to dance include a very specific movement vocabulary evolved through his creative use of crutches as a child after the discovery of a physical disability that effected his ability to bear weight in his hips. Bill’s subsequent immersion in the emergent youth cultures of hip-hop and skateboarding further contributed to his autodidactic form on crutches"
Bill Shannon; is an American artist who resides in Brooklyn. Shannon holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.Born with a degenerative hip condition, he developed a way to express himself through dance and skateboarding. (With Crutches Too.)
I don't think he's mocking anyone's disability here. I think this guy found out that he's really good with crutches. He rocks it out. He displays strength, flexibility, an dexterity. Put that together with some RJD2, and you have a winning combination.
Thanks to someone who replied to my initial comment: I have learned that even though it may appear he does not need the crutches to walk, I have been informed by someone who knows who this man is that he does indeed need them to walk. I stand corrected and I am glad that someone informed me!!! ♥️ Knowledge is power and it shall set you free!
@@BeastyBite Thank you so so much for educating me! I am completely dumbfounded how he makes it look like he's barely using his crutches. I'm going to check this Bill Shannon out , And you've helped recruit him another fan :-)
This Guy is mad cool. if you dont think that his legs are disabled, well then your right. its actually his hip that has the condition. ur mad though dude. 5/5
The only reason why someone would dislike this video is b/c they: 1. found some crutches. 2. hurt themselves on said crutches. 3. are now watching this video again, 4. and still can't 'Work it Out'
from what i know the man in this video has arthritis and needs those crutches to walk without hurting himself but he loves to dance so he learned to dance with them
I love this video. It's truly amazing and the song is fantastic. RJD2 is one of my favorite artists. Even after changing his style he's still making great music. On a side note what city was this shot in?
