Mr Dushyant Bhardwaj is from Bulandshahr, UP. He had high myopia with spectacle prescription of -13 D & -14 D.
Usually an ICL surgery is preferred for correction of such high powers, but in Dushyant's case, ICL surgery was not possible as his ACD (Anterior Chamber Depth) was not enough to accommodate the ICL lens. (ACD should be equal/greater than 2.8mm)
In such cases, where LASIK and ICL surgery is not possible, RLE surgery can be an alternative option for specs removal.
RLE stands for Refractive Lens Exchange and it is also called CLE (Clear Lens Extraction).
In this surgery, the natural lens of the eye is replaced with a clear artificial lens (IOL-Intra Ocular Lens).

आमतौर पर, इतने ज्यादा नंबर का चश्मा उतारने के लिए ICL सर्जरी को प्राथमिकता दी जाती है, लेकिन दुष्यंत जी के मामले में, ICL सर्जरी संभव नहीं थी क्योंकि उनकी ACD (एंटीरियर चैंबर डेप्थ) ICL लेंस को आँख मे डालने के लिए पर्याप्त नहीं थी। (ACD 2.8 mm के बराबर/अधिक होना चाहिए)

इस सर्जरी में, आंख के प्राकृतिक लेंस को एक स्पष्ट कृत्रिम लेंस (IOL-Intra Ocular Lens) से बदल दिया जाता है।

✅Process Of RLE Surgery
RLE surgery generally takes 3 days (visits).
DAY 1️⃣ - pre-op screening tests (approx. 2 hours) which involve:
◽ Basic eye check-ups
◽ Biometry- perfect IOL power calculation
◽ Blood Pressure (BP), Blood Sugar test and E.C.G.
DAY 2️⃣ - Surgery (30-minutes in surgery, approx. 2 hours overall, in clearing discharge formalities and paperwork)
DAY 3️⃣ - Follow Up Check-Up (Approx. 1 hour)
Note: RLE surgery can be performed for one eye at a time. The other eye can be operated after 2 days.
