Stopping at red lights and stop signs makes you a stronger cyclist.

The first thing I do if I don't understand something is re-search, then If I can't find the answer I ask around until I get the answer. Just imaging ur partner is working in front of their PC, then they say, oh Chris whats the time please! what would U say! me - check your system tray on the bottom right... :)

Please don't attempt to patronise me. I showed enough interest in your channel to post a comment and you, for some inexplicable reason, think your attitude is acceptable. It isn't.

Chris, I wasn't trying to be patronising, again apologies if you took it as that :(

What happened to cyclists having to have a constant white light and a constant red light? The cyclist jumping the reds is an every day occurrence, or my favourite, a red light so they hop on the path then hope off past the light, and then wonder why motorists get annoyed

1. This is 6 years ago. 2.Because motorist get annoyed, gives them the right to injure or kill a cyclist & 3.You never mentioned the extreme close pass by the motorcyclist & by the way this bus lane is for BUS, taxi & Cyclist only until 7pm.

@@bazk21 , lol, don’t put words into my mouth, I never said a motorist can kill a cyclist just because he’s annoyed. 6 years ago or yesterday, jumping a red light is illegal full stop. In a bus lane it’s ok for cyclists to ride down the middle of the lane and two a breast. I saw the motorcycle, shouldn’t have been in the bus lane full stop, but extreme close pass, no closer than a cyclist inches from your wing mirror or when your static on a motorcycle, zipping by right next to you. Your very biased. The biggest crime in this clip is the cyclist jumping the lights. He could have killed himself or others.

They can have flashing lights as it makes it easier for other road users know they are there. However, a flashing light, particularly in a mirror makes it much harder to know exactly where they are. So on the one hand it makes it easier for other road users to know they are there, but on the other hand it just means other users now know they are there _somewhere._ Tte safest is to have *BOTH* a flashing and a steady light: the flashing light to draw attention and the steady to be able to locate; the least safest is just a flashing light. It's ridiculous that cyclists don't want to commit the offence of giing through a red light, but are instead happy to commit an offence under section 72 of the Highways Act 1835 _and_ put a more vulnerable road user - pedestrians - in danger...

It is perfectly legal to get off your bike and walk it say 20 metres past the red light junction and then get back on it again. It would take twenty or thirty seconds at the most? Although if a cyclist does mount the pavement with due care and caution for any potential pedestrians then I don't have a big problem with that to be honest. And I do emphasise with due care and only when appropriate. It is an advantage to using a bicycle instead of a car. But of course, if one bends a rule, many more will just break it without remorse.

On my rides on the very same route get the same as you. Not as fast as you, but fast enough to catch cyclist like that guy. Also it looked like he nearly rear ended you. The motor cyclist will have an accident doing that.

Yeap the cyclist got to close, he must have been looking at the rear wheel only, without forward thinking, idiot man :( and for that motor cyclist, yes he will..
