Olaf Finer Are you implying the initial comment about cyclists ignoring lights is wrong? I'm a cyclist and as a road user, I obey the laws of the road. Would you do it on a motorbike or in a car?
If it weren't for cars walk don't walk lights would be unnecessary yes. Or do you think pedestrians would collide which each other with 1.3 million deaths as a result? Traffic lights are there to stop cars. Nothing else. If there are no cars, you don't need traffic lights. Difficult to grasp the concept is it not?
Yes the UK is a different planet. Things fall up! I even saw traffic lights for pedestrians to cross a cycle path. Which the whole world finds hilarious. Except you British creatures of course.
@@bazk21@35seconds 3 cyclist making no attempt to stop at the zebra crossing when there was a lady clearly crossing on it they only missed her because she hurried out the way would be plain to see if it wasnt speeded up!
@@philipowen3370Good point. Slow it down to 0.25x and it’s totally illegal. No attempt to slow down and pedestrian has to put a trot on to avoid being hit.
Rule 71 You MUST NOT cross the stop line when the traffic lights are red. Some junctions have an advanced stop line to enable you to wait and position yourself ahead of other traffic (see Rule 178).
When I viewed this I thought it was about the cyclist in black, riding in middle of road far to close to other traffic and lots of the time weaving over the lane markings
None of these cyclists come out of it looking good. It’s a real free for all, riding three abreast and all over the road, blocking each other, not stopping at the zebra crossing for the woman on it and of course the one that jumps the red light. I cycle a lot but not in London and just follow the Highway Code as I do in a car. Sometimes you get stopped at a pedestrian crossing with a red light and no pedestrians in sight but I just wait for green. I don’t want to give any more ammunition to the anti-cyclists mob and who knows when they are being videod?
Is this why 90% of London cyclists have cameras on them, so they can put up boring material like this? You might as well film someone j walking or dropping litter on the ground as well
In the US you don’t have to stop at the three way intersection like this. You just need to slow down to yield anyone in the cross walk. It makes no sense to stop there.
Checked again, black and yellow top riders were on the crossing the same time as the pedestrian, red top close. The crossing jumpers were at risk of injuring someone more vulnerable than cyclists, red light jumper likely to just kill himself.
How can you be sure the riders weren't slowing down for the pedestrian? The video there is sped up a lot, and the pedestrian has clearly finished crossing when the riders start to cross it. People are happy to join the anti cyclists band wagon all to promptly.
All he had to say was, "Passing on the right," and I'm sure they'd have let him by. No need to get bothered by them being in front. As far as running the red, fixie or not, that's just a bad idea. If one light is red, chances are, another is green. And stopping makes you stronger.
''There is good & bad in everyone''......'Ebony And Ivory' sung by Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder, a song about our race but could be used again but for everyone on our roads to be as one and stop being part of the food chain.
If I did (can't speak for others) think I was a traffic policeman, don't you think I would give chase... role eyes. In fact only this morning another cyclist almost got taken out at this exact spot where this guy RLJ... footage for you later or tomorrow evening..
I'm 72, and I've cycled in 24 countries. People tell me it's dangerous to cycle in London. Cycling is not dangerous. Cyclists are dangerous. Never, never, presume that you have the right of way.
I hope that 'ignorant cyclist' fell off is bike and made a fool of himself. Yeah, there are both good and bad drivers, as well as good and bad cyclists. Those bad cyclists and drivers, give others' a bad name, and usually cause the problems for ourselves. We should all work together to use our roads safely and efficiently, instead of selfishly and dangerously.
You see the guys like that numpty in the video who just sail on through. You are not paying attention to the others in front of the camera and the many others behind you can't see who DID stop and wait.
They're lucky they're allowed to use the bus lane. We often don't have a lane like that, neither for busses nor cyclists. When I want to turn left to the street where I live, it's dangerous bc car drivers or other motorized drivers are ignoring my sign or are too fast or both. One time I even had a mad cyclist following me bc he didn't see me turning to the left and it was too close. But I was signing and turning to the middle of the street early enough, when no driver was in sight. You can't win. I know we're a hassle to them (too slow, too unpredictable), but that's what they are too (too fast, too unpredictable).
Don’t see the big deal, traffic was slow in the lane he joined, your on a bike so you don’t have to sit like a lemon in traffic so didn’t see a danger in what he did, different story if the lane he joined was fast moving so in my mind he read the situation and carried on, your just being a bit too sensible 😂
What about the three cyclists that made no attempt to stop at the zebra crossing @35 seconds just about missed the pedestrian who was clearly already crossing 😡
I noticed that the Highway Authority has caused an incorrect road sign to be placed on a bollard at 1:44 in the video, making it look as if the cyclists have taken a wrong path, which they haven't. The Authority needs to correct this, before someone gets hurt.
This as now been reported m8, Transport and streets - Street furniture/street lighting problem report, Thank you for submitting your form. Your reference number is SFSL861195
so the dude jump a red light... and you make a youtube video of it... You know in some countries it is allowed to doo so (usa, turn right when the light is red). I don't understand this public shaming, he is taking some risk and will assume them if it turns bad. As a cyclist I consider that like a moralist bullshit. I don't know any cyclist who never jump a red light or a stop and even for the most respecfull ones. Every body do mistake from times to times...
My gramma sucks, however this is the UK not US.. Did U read 1 to 4? this was the point, No.5 is #law, everyone else stopped but him. This is not about shaming, but ignorant PPL, either by car/motorbike or bike. Until the #law says it's ok 2 RLJ I will continue to stop.
Didn't read when I post my comment. Agreed 4 is a bad behavior, he shouldn't have done that and it is pointless. The red light is his reponsability, he can get ticked or worse crashed. But It that case he didn't put anyone in danger, the pedestrian who crossed was quite far. My point is that it is not the best example of a bad cyclist. I have been commuting for 1 year in London, 2 years in Paris and now in the US, and saw much dangerous cyclist than that. Anyway stay safe on the roadr I know that UK, particularly London is a tough place to be a cyclist! I had a lot of close call there.
