RM is the main writer for bts for a reason. This man writes the most beautiful poetry. He is an incredible rapper. The wordplay in songs are insane. Also this song is about rm coming down from the height of fame like fireworks and wishing to live like a wildflower on the ground that lasts forever. And for sure there is crossover between subject matter between bts members because they lived the same life path. They lived together for 10 years. Of course you are right in saying the subject matter is similar. Whatever rm has been through he has shared with jhope. And what jhope been through he has been through it with rm. They are all brothers man. 7 different approachs to music but the heart is the same.

RM is a poet first and rapper second. He is one of the best lyricists I’ve ever heard.

When I first heard this song and read the lyrics it was so painful I cried. As fans, we knew that things weren't easy for them. At first because they were nobody and had to fight their way up and then because being as big as they are took away a lot of experiences normal people have on top of them becoming a target of a lot of hate. Plus the insane work pace literally burnt them out, especially RM, who aside from being part of the group is also the leader and one of the main songwriters of the group, so he carried a lot on his back. Hearing in his own words what all of this was like in this song as well as the whole album was painful. but I'm so grateful he poured it out as much as he could. He seems to be doing better now, so Indigo (the album this song is from) was clearly a healing experience for him, but of course as a fan I wish he didn't ever have to feel this way. He really is an incredible artist and this is one of the best songs I have ever head in my life.

RM is telling his story of fame and success is what he wanted but now the dark side of fame he now realizes. He can’t be just be himself anymore. It’s like shackles to his feet and he afraid that he may lose himself now he wants flowers work. Peace and tranquility of being just Namjoon no hero just himself. Because he is aware he will not allow it to swallow and burn him out. He is very wise and humble and that’s what makes him great💜

RM IS a Real genius of writing lyrics ..heavy pen ..he is the leader of BTS and the boys and us respect him a lot . He calls this album "the last archive of his twenties" This song contains RM's wish to live like a calm wild flower, not an intense but fast-disappearing flame. Actually, 들꽃놀이(flowerwork) is the official title of this song in Korean. In Korean, firework and flowerwork have same pronunciation except only one syllable. It's kind of word play. Perhaps you can imagine a scene where petals are flying in the sky like fireworks. Oh FYI, the scene of fireworks flying in the sky at 2:50 in the music video is called Nakhwa Nori(a falling fire play), a traditional Korean fireworks that have been around since the 15th century. This is a firework that hangs a bag of charcoal powder from a long rope suspended in the air, lights it up, and flies it on the water like petals. If you enjoyed Wild Flower, I highly recommend another title, Still Life. :) INDIGO consists of 10 songs, and each song has a collaboration with a different great artist. If u listen RM first mixtape, he is more aggressive n lot of anger at there because of hate he and BTS received back then. But he become more calm n sentimental as he grow older. It’s so nice to have the general public finally hear BTS. For years we’ve been requesting their music on radio stations but radio won’t play them because of payola and because BTS refuses to play the music industry game where you pay middlemen to make it happen. Radio stations even said we were a nuisance for always requesting. Yeah, radio does NOT play was the public wants. It plays what it wants the public to hear. So now I’m happy you get to know about them. When I first found BTS, it was during the pandemic. And my regret was not knowing about them sooner.

RM probably has had the most pressure put on him than any of the other members because he is the leader of BTS and also the only one who was/is fluent in English ( the others have improved a bunch) he was the first one signed and go between the group and the company. he has songs with Wale, Lil Nas, and Warren G :P ( from your comment about American artist collabs)

Namjoon (RM) struggling dealing with fame and all its trappings, trying not to lose sight of himself while the whole world watches his every move. The fireworks/wild flower/flower work lyric actually came from his post back in 2017 titled 불꽃놀이the Korean title of "Wild Flower," which rhymes with (firework). He said, "Perhaps in our lives we need wild flowers [ 들꽃; deulkkot]-rather than flames [불꽃; bulkkot] or cherry blossoms [ 벚꽃; beotkkot]- in bloom, tranquilly." It's flower work because wildflowers are like fire works, they spread through the field just like how fireworks spread through the sky except Namjoon is saying he wants to live as a calm wildflower rather than a flashy quickly disappearing firework. So instead of living like fire flowers that is brilliant but would quickly disappear, namjoon would like to live more like wildflowers that are calm and tranquil. He used 불꽃 wordplay in prev work too Him wanting a life like a tranquil wild flower instead of a flashy firework that is quick to burn out. He always paints such a personal and powerful image.

that's bts' leader RM, he's a poet, an artist, a wise man, and also my favorite human being on the entire planet aside from my own family and friends. this song was his way of letting go of everything he's been holding onto all these years: the pressure of being bts' strong, dependable leader. they said the song is like an emotional release. of course he still bts' amazing leader, but all that pressure, fireworks, fanfare got too much for him and he said he'd rather exist as a humble, eternal, and proud wildflower than a temporary, flashy, and exciting firework. edit: i related to the song too!! i think anyone with pent up feelings and wishes and dreams can relate. he captured that desperate yearning feeling so well. he specifically wanted youjeen on the track and i can see why... her voice is absolutely piercing. it hits you in your soul.

Wild Flower is a masterpiece! It's so emotionally charged and lays bare the struggles, hopes and wishes of RM in a tragically beautiful way, I love it.

RM is BTS leader & one of their rapline (RM main rapper followed by AgustD/Suga & Jhope). He have an IQ of 148 and is trilingual (Korean, English & Japanese), he played with languages and word play very cleverly & poetically. Known as a philosopher who rap. RM is also heavily involved with BTS discographies especially lyrics and concept wise. Wildflower is very deep and personal song. He shares his personal struggles, identity crisis, the pressure/intensity & the loneliness of his success etc hence, the many references - storm, perform on stage, firework and later his firm decision to be a wildflower that live happily than a short fused firework . For context, RM has been the groups spokesperson, the main face/shield of BTS and been in the industry for more than a decade. The album, Indigo is a story of his 20s.

Happy u went back to check out the lyrics, it's important. Also, they can all talk about the same topic and their lyrics and rap style will be different, just check out BTS songs to hear the rappers express themselves through their lyrics to get their take on the same topic. It's amazing. That's how ARMY ends up being OT7 because they just keep bias wrecking us. My bias is JHope, then leaderline (RM&JHope) then rapline and so it goes .. no matter the starting point we end up being OT7 because we love them all.

He has been fighting with inner conflicts between his 2 different personas as "Kim Namjoon(his real name)" and "RM（rapper,idol,a leader of BTS)". This is the first song he released after chapter2. Chapter2 : BTS established their era worldwide as a legendary group from 2013 to 2022. They started new chapter by releasing solo works and going military in order. Military is the most difficult issue for Korean idols to maintain their popularity because they have to go military for 2 years and they are treated as "ordinary people" and can't do any show biz activities. RM is a leader of BTS and he speaks English well so his burden was too heavy. "How should we be?" or "If we did these things, our fans might disappoint and leave us?". He kept thinking like that 24/7 hours. so I'm not the only one still mesmerized by the beginning. when I listened at first it was off guard. not only because I didn't expect him to come in that moment but because of how beautiful it was made. I love the build up which excites you and then BAM full on firworks and him straight going into the chorus

I didn't see anyone say this yet so I just want to say a little bit about the guest artist on this track, Youjeen. She's more or less retired, the lead singer of a rock group called Cherry Filter. She's known for the passion in her voice, and when RM asked her to do this she wasn't sure he meant it. 😂 But he said, later, that if she hadn't said yes he would have translated the chorus because she was the only person in Korea who could sing it. She kills it with raw emotion in this song full of raw emotion.

There are songs you just love listening to, and then there are songs that you FEEL! I feel this song like a kick to the heart every time I hear it. You are the third person I have heard describe it as a perfect song and personally I agree.

We like the same things everyone else likes AND BTS not only BTS. 💜 So this song is from RM's album Indigo and literally the entire thing is a banger. It's a short album.....I think ~30 mins. RM is the leader of BTS and a literal genius. His IQ is 148 close to Einstein's. He does have collabs with American artists. FYI. The fireworks are not CGI. They are real. RM insisted on it. The line firecracker lights are a cultural South Korean feature. Fishermen used to line their boats and the shore with them. They are so unique and special. The story. RM has worked so hard to attain his success. The lyric to sum it all... "I do so wish for a Lovely night". He's exhausted. He ends up where he wants. Lying down in a flowery meadow resting. You need to know this. BTS worked 7 days a week. No days off. No vacations except for 2 in the last years. They work 360 days a year. In 2021 they finally got Christmas off for the first time! Same message from JHope. He's done. He achieved success. He burned all the flames. Does he keep on fire or rest? He's burned out. RM is a writer through and through!! Truly one of the best lyricists. He is very introspective so his lyrics are relatable. His ability to bring inner feelings and thoughts to life through music is remarkable. It also helps that he is well-read so undoubtedly that reflects on his work as well.

He says he wanted it badly; but then it was like a shackle because they got so much bigger than ever imagined. And now he just wants to be back to being himself. And he says he'll be back ... RM's lyrics are poetry his songs always have deeper meanings. This has definitely been my favourite song and now HOBI is close to this if not equal to it for me. This song is his feelings about the success he has had and the price of that upon him. It's so beautiful, it's that cinematography along with Cho Youjeen's vocals and RM's words weaving in and out that keeps you spellbound. It does that for me every time I hear it too. I understand his journey and I get so emotional, when I read his words and feel all the struggles and pain he went through for himself, his art and ARMY. Next up Daechwita by Agust D (aka Suga) the third member of the BTS rap line. All three BTS rappers have bars, but RM has the soul of a poet and writes his deepest inner thoughts in terms of metaphors and symbolism. For example, in this song he starts out as just one flower in a field of flowers, just a regular person looking up at the sky and wanting to go up there and be a firework, or be someone that everyone can see and look up at; which he does but looses his identity in the process. This song is about somehow being able to combine his identity as a regular person and a celebrity and find some balance and some peace. He knows that when the firework is finished shining it will have to fall back down to that field where he started out in the first place. Notice that near the end of the video the image is upside down and the flowers look like they are in the sky. He’s not a firework or a flower, he has become a flower work, a little bit of each.
