Paul, thank you for answering my question while "live". I see you remember me (lol) :) and you were rather a good sport. Yes, we do differ on some points, but there are times we do agree. I do believe we both want the same for the enthusiast - the best audio available for the person's situation. Agree 100% about adding a good "USA" subwoofer (I use SVS subs) to a system with good "Brit" speakers (i use ProAc and B&W speakers). Once you go this way you won't go subless anymore.
Howdy Paul.. I am loving your talk.. as an every day viewer of your videos (every one of them) multiple times to recall info... I feel really good from what you've taught us. I could answer most of those questions and my brain keeps screaming at the audience's questions wondering What rock have you been under... one day mark my words I'm going to come to Rocky Mountain audio fest with a pair of Boss woofers and some pyramid tweeters and I'm going to tell them to make them sound good and I'm sure all the audio Wizardry in that little room can make it happen if not,,,,,, we will sacrifice the infinity IRS BETA for the good of mankind! Ok not really, but that would be a real gas!
It's nice to have a degree of flexibility with speaker and room interaction.Potentially though,if there are too many variables and buttons to fiddle with,audio nervosa can find its way into the proceedings.I feel it's enough to feel the need to fiddle with speaker placement,and just leave it at that.Otherwise,the temptation towards endless fiddling can come at the expense of just sitting back and enjoying the music in my humble opinion.
Paul, the first answer about Tidal is unfortunately flawed. Tidal includes an Exclusive / Bypass to any device, no need for external programs. Certainly right though for web apps, they are bad.
You don't have to apologise, of course we like good bass. We are just discerning about our bass quality and do not mistake quantity for quality. Both are important. We are the home of REL subwoofers - Pauls favourites after all.
Hi Paul, love to see the progression of the AN3's, could you please build the AN2's as a scaled down AN3? It's just to big for my room. I really enjoy listening to your talks. ok paul why BHK preamp so many people are complaining that even when change the tubes and there is no music playien one channel is more louder then the other
Why are Americans obsessed with bass and high power if the loudspeaker makers keep on increasing the sensitivity of their designs which there are plenty dont need mega power to sound loud.
I second that Paul is not about snake oil. He's as straight a shooter on anything audio or not. When was the last time anybody asked a ceo about how smoking pot effects music?😀
@Kenneth Eis I assume that’s why he sells an $800 power cable ($1200 for 2m). I was mainly talking about his claims on DSD and the like. There is absolutely nothing audibly wrong with PCM that DSD improves upon, DSD is even worse for high-res due to all the high frequency noise that gets pushed due to noise shaping.
@@homeboi808 I can't speak for his claims of dsd one way or another. But regarding power cables I do have experience with and they do make a difference in a resolving system. I have a pair of older b&w speakers that were used back in the day to master classical, jazz, etc and they show every change I have made. I thought it was crazy till I tried it. That goes with every every other cable change and component change. It can be a change for good and bad, it's all about how all this stuff plays together. And no I'm not here to promote expensive cables. Mine are not ps audio and we're in the ballpark of what ps audio charges. Got them used at a big discount. In a less resolving system all these fancy cables probobly wouldn't be noticed as much. Wish it wasn't so but once you go down this rabbit hole a lot of money could be spent that makes ya shake your head at. Sorry for the rant😀
