I'm tempted to get this unit as I've been looking through lots at this price range and apparently most of them (mainly amazon) are using the same chipsets and camera lenses, I've looked at the reviews for road angel app and like all the others it's been hit hard by criticism, but it looks like you had no issues with it
Yep I've not had too many issues, the main one was my android would disconnect from the WiFi connection as it has no valid internet connection. But once I'd clicked the checkbox to remain connected anyway I had no problems 👍 (user error for not reading the pop up message in the first place). I quite like how intuitive the app was to use, of course the quickest way is still to put the memory card into a pc and drag it off that way.
@@CRD90 that was another concern as I'd rather just be using phone for now, I want to get it right as have bought too much crap in the past, thank you I may pull the trigger and get it with the hardwire kit
@@thomj32 my phone? It's a Motorola edge running android. Or if you mean my existing dash cam, then it's an aukey front and rear 1080p. Pretty decent but no app unfortunately.
Getting more excited by the day to see the halo pro ( video 5 ). In the meantime a very merry Christmas to you and all your family and also fellow subscribers. Have a great weekend.
Not as a frequent removal. It does have a spare pad in case you switch cars so you can use the dashcam again. But it is not designed be constantly removed in and out of a car.
Hello. you said this is a front dashcam. Does this give you a fish eye view. Can it be used at rear. Also is it wired up to car as live all time or through accessories.
Hi, it didn't have a fish eye view and worked pretty well as you'll see in the footage. You can buy the optional hard wire kit which allows parking mode which means it will run continuously. For the video I had it plugged in to the 12v power socket so not hard wired.
Any comments on tthe below? "Issues 1) There is a pulsing orange light that signifies normal operation. This isn't too bad but would like the option to turn it off 2) The app is rubbish. As you can see from the photo it has a black background with dark writing. One of the options might be to switch profiles, but I can't see it and I can't see anything else either. 3) It takes a photo every 10 feet on UK roads as it thinks I've crashed. It doesn't just take a photo it sounds a loud "click" which is very off-putting. Provide a sound control Road Angel 4) Like many UK cars, my car has auto start-stop, so the Road Angel powers down and then up again with a frigging loud sound. Again Road angel, provide a sound control 5) The app seems rubbish to download video so you need to remove the SD card. I suspect like most UK cars I have mounted it to the left of wing mirror and mounted it close so it is less obtrusive. The SD card slot is on the right side nearest the mirror and it is hard to extract. This is my fault for installing it this way, but if I could see the app and it worked I wouldn't need to take the SD card out."
Hi, can't really comment on the app as I've never had too much fuss with it. There is an option somewhere in the app to adjust sensitivity of the gsensor which should help the auto impact photos. Is your car hard wired? Which fuse did you go into as if it was the 12v circuit that definitely should not switch off with start/stop technology.
Depends on the budget. I really like the view and the interface on that. The video should be ready in a few days time. The pro is also good as it has GPS functionality built in but can look a bit more bulkier. The ultra has the next features but I would personally choose one of the cameras with front and rear.
