I always talked a lot of crap about these because I always drove them short distances for work, but I recently took a 2017 on a 12 hour road trip and was impressed, it got almost 30 mpg, it's perfectly fine accelerating normally and the passing power is ok. I'd own one actually.

I drove one of these home one night, and it was a very comfortable compact SUV to drive. If I were to own a compact SUV, this would be at the top of the list. Mitsubishi is an underrated car, and the Outlander Sport has plenty of space for me (6’0”), and it looks sharp. This looks better than the RAV4, Rogue, and CR-V.

Bought this car two weeks ago and I love it! such a smooth ride. Maybe it's not the fastest accelerator from standing still but it stupid to start fast and than stop at next red light . I am loving it great bang for your buck.

Those who are old enough knows that Mitsubishi is in SUV's big time. The infamous Pajero once scared the hell out of the Land Rovers, and Jeeps. So, any SUV with a Mitsubishi badge is at least worthy to consider.

I have a loaded white one and I absolutely love it. It is fast enough for city traffic, and I can pack 4 friends in without much complaint. It goes like nothing else in the snow and mud, and I get complimented on the looks all the time.

Girlfriend just bought one a few months back, best car for your money with the most features offered. She has the AWD version with the premium sound and panoramic roof package. Sound packs a punch with Rockford Fosgate sound accompanied by a 10' sub in the trunk. Cant wait to see how it handles in the winter.

The sport logo is to let know that this is not the big Outlander. I own one, I have been using it for almost 3 years and it accelerates fine. If you want to go faster use the paddle shifters, it makes a great difference. The sport logo was added because the style of the vehicle, it looks sportier than most of the SUVs. 3 years without any kind of issues and is giving me 36MPGs on the morning, 27 most of the time in the evening. Is giving more MPG most of the time.

I have a 2014, the only thing im not a fan of is the fact that you can't tow a trailer without Mitsu voiding the warranty.. If they even see a hitch on it, warranty will be voided.

Agreed! My favorite choices in compact suvs are this and the Nissan Juke. Id love CUV with the styling of this car with the engine of the Juke, 6 speed manual and AWD... Ahh that would be perfection
@michaellovely6601

This generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is much more visually appealing compared to the "what the Hell were they thinking?" exterior styling of the Nissan Juke.

You’ll be making a good decision. Make sure to find one that’s in good condition and never been in a crash then repaired cheaply.

Love this car. So great for hauling stuff and taking road trips. I can even fit my bike in it and I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for gas. And it you have the 4wd version that thing just goes and goes in the snow it's Awesome! even though it's not fast it is perfect! I personally am glad it doesn't go very fast cuz I am not a fan of speeding tickets 😂

First of all, Mitsubishi has had this little SUV since the early 90’s as the ASX and it's still sold as the ASX or RVR in other places. It also comes with specialty packs I have the rally pack with lowered suspension rally rims and 4B11 NA with cold air intake and upgraded exhaust it also came with a body kit. It was hard as hell to find.

I got one and for its money it's the best buy in its class! Good space inside, sexy outside and comfy ride. Considering power it is matter of preferences! I think it's powerful enough for every day commuter, it's not sport car!

Well, with gas prices reaches $4 a gallon, i dont think a lot of ppl will complain about the underpowered engine, hell its a 4 cylinder for Christ sake, not a V6 or a Evo. You want a car with 200 plus horsepower consider the regular Outlander, not the Outlander sport.

we got 1 in dark blue,great color,SE trim minus pano roof and fosgate stereo,the design and econo factor won me over.our mitsu dealer also carries the Hyundai and KIA brand,the sorento was out of my budget,the sportage i think is overpriced and i dont like the look,the hyundai Tuscon was more than the O sport with the same options,with the 4wd this really is a good choice.no you wont smoke everyone in the 1/4 mile or off the line,but i had my trans ams and such,i got 2 kids those days are over.

the problem with mitsubishi is that all most of there cars lack refinement and arent updated for a long time. the eclipse,endouver,galant,and even the lancer are behind times except for the outlander and this

I agree. Great looking car but engine is not going to please enthusiasts, this car is aimed more for fuel economy. However, i would still get one an put a turbo and/or some intake upgrades and it should give it a nice power upgrade.

Its 9.5 seconds for the variable transmission automatic version I have a manual and it goes 0-60 in 8.9, I think the issue is not the engine but the transmission since the gears dont rev as well as in the standard version

mpgomatic (another youtube tester) was able to achieve 26.4 mpg combined and 28.5 mpg highway. Matt Campbell from down and under (drive dot com dot au) reported 29.8 mpg (8.1L/100km) for the four wheel drive model with CVT. This car has a reasonably flat torque vs rpm curve (75% is available at 2000 rpm; no reason to rev the engine despite the urging feel to do so). Also look at paultan dot org and type +SUV shootout". In that test in Malaysia (Mitsu ASX there) 7.5 L/100km was reported.

@SaxCorgi
@SaxCorgi 11 лет назад
The only problem I have had with that owning this vehicle is you don't get nearly the 31mpg highway or 25 city. I get about a combined 23-24mpg only because I have to rev the engine pretty high when getting on the highway and if i loose a little speed, it takes a lot to get it back going.

@soyntgo4it Sorry my Outlander pretty well equipped was $22000, MP3 220 hp front wheel/allwheel drive. Way more room inside then any other SUV of this size. Not at all overpriced and been a super reliable vehicle. On the worst roads will go any place I have every asked of it. If you want any fact they are going in the right direction get an Outlander. I have an LS not this sport which I don't care much for just my personal choice.

The "Sport" on the vehicle's badge is to separate it from the regular Mitsubishi Outlander. Plus, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport looks sporty; as John Davis said: "The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is more 'flash' than 'go fast.'"

Under powered equals no sale! How hard would it have been to put a de-tuned evo engine in it? Give it say 250hp then I'd consider it, hell give 200hp and it would be a contender. Stupid Mitsubishi stupid.
