Of course I bought a blast sensor 2 weeks too early. But it really is a great tool. And if you have an iPad or iPhone you can track exit velo and launch angle. Absolutely worth the money.

Coach. I would be interested to know your average plane, and connection scores and also your thoughts on those two metrics including on plane efficiency. How much do you focus on those metrics using BLAST.

How do you teach a hitter to keep their bat level during a whole at bat? There is a player on my daughter's team who drops the bat head behind her before swinging, and so when she swings it is in an awkward violent upward motion. It's the strangest swing I've ever seen. I think she is losing a lot of speed and power by doing this. Is there anything to recommend on how to try to correct this? She seems resigned to it just being that way. It's something that should have been addressed years ago.

I am just curious during your swing when making contact with the ball should your shoulders be completely level with each other or should they be slightly closed. Or does it mainly depend on where the location of the pitch is

Hey man, great question! It does depend on the pitch because of where you want to hit it. If it is outside you want to point your shoulders to opposite field. If it is inside you will slightly open up, and down the middle you are usually straight. It’s different for everyone, but when I swing I try to keep my shoulders closed because I have a problem with pulling off. Hope this helps!

Hey Matt I did some digging and it says that the blast sensor works really only with iphone...I want to get a sensor but don't necessarily want to get an iphone to get a sensor knowhatimean? Lol So...do you know of anyone who has a sensor and an android phone and it works good?

Matt, on those that you barreled up well, did any have the feel of a homerun? I saw a lot of line drives, but the one that intrigued me the most was the 2nd swing (bat speed 71.0) -- that ball looked driven quite well in the air.
