Such a cool compilation. I remember trying to emulate so many of them growing up.

Ben Webber of the Angels had a truly weird wind up and delivery. Like he’s pumping up for power.

Fantastic list! I noticed Johnny Cueto's unique style before he joined our Royals. We called it, "rocking the baby". He pitched a complete game in the World Series and helped us win a Championship!!💙👑🤍 A big hat tip to all the amazing Pitchers on this list!

Why isn't Carter Capps a balk ?

Marichal had the craziest pitching windup I’ve ever seen. I don’t know how he could pitch so accurately with that insanely high leg kick. But he did.

Nice compilation! I always enjoyed Hisashi Iwakuma's double hitch windup, if you ever make a sequel.

Luis Tiant, most epic lineup of the 1970s and 80s. There used to be a short “poem” written about his windows-up if anybody bows it, please let me know.

Lincecum's delivery looks so violent in slow motion. I had a poster of Arroyo while he was with the Red Sox, and of course his photo was with his leg up like on a 45 degree angle

nice! i learned to pitch like Feller and Gibson with the arm swing sometimes more than one, even back in the early 80’s that was considered old school. the yankees brought the no windup to baseball in the 70’s for “efficiency of movement”. do you need all the other movement, NO. but it sure is easier to promote proper sequence and timing with it.

Walter Johnson another good one. Also Carter Capps is his own kind of dirty player

I still don't understand how Carter Capps wasn't called for Balking every time. For that matter, I have the same question about Nestor Cortes.
@woobackwednesday2299
@woobackwednesday2299 Год назад
AFAIK you can't balk if there's no one on base which is why Cueto and Cortes can boogie all they want in that case

Makes me wonder who Robert Redford patterned his delivery after in "The Natural". It was my first thought when watching the Juan Marichal delivery, but I thought the same thing looking at Warren Spahn.

I remember Ryan Madson when he was a rookie in 2004 had a very violent leg kick. It was effective, but he definitely changed it by 08

There'll be even fewer of those around with the pitch clock! I wonder if pitchers will have time to shake off pitches anymore especially if pitchcom malfunctions and they can't hear anything. Such a big advantage for the batter...

Ok, Ninja, not bad. But the funkiest motion I remember was a lefty on the Expos in the 70s by the name of Chris Welsh. Looked like a tin man collapsing every time he started his wind up. Loved me some Gene Garber, too.

I was curious about that, he literally takes a hopping step forward, felt like that can't be allowed. A wierd windup is one thing, but he is taking a step closer as he is releasing.

Haven't they said Capps' is a balk? Because he uses those little stutter-steps to get like 2 or 3 extra feet off the bag before actually releasing the ball?

When baseball was baseball! No clocks, no instant replay and the catcher actually called pitches! Baseball is all about traditions and the new modern baseball threw it all away! Very rare very rare very very rare to see a pitcher have their own unique wind up! SMH

Game times used to avg a little over 2 hours. With TV time outs and the little brats playing today it's almost a 3 hr game.
