After spending a lot of hours in TLD I find myself unable to play any difficulty but Interloper. I guess continuous trauma does make you better :D

So I was 3 days into a new interloper run after a heartbroken death after 47 days. I had a fare gun with no flares. I found a flare in one of the cars on the bridge to the bear cave in Mountain Town THEN found the bear sleeping in his cave. I sneaked onto him and managed to kill him with one shot to the head. Had to poke the bear to make sure he was dead! One of the most exciting moment of my runs! Just want to share with Prof Zak! Shame that I don't record. Please recreate it if oppotunity arises!

great vid as always Zak! hey i got the cooking DLC yesterday! OOOOOHH I'M SOOOOO EXCITED!🥹 the ML office is my base. i spawned in, found the skillet, jar of salt then later i stumbled upon a very well hidden bag of potatoes. can't cook them yet. i guess they require a recipe. I made the travois, gathered lots of wood and enough stones for a 3rd rockfrigerator for meat. then i had an EXTREME stroke of "luck". I needed a third wolf hide for a coat. I had only one round left for my pistol. out on the lake I saw a wolf kill a doe. it was quite far away. as you know survival mode makes them spook while still at great distance so they're hard to shoot cos they run before you can get a bead on them. I was maybe 55 yards and aimed as best i could. I fired and it ran off. I approached the deer and saw the blood splatter! HIT! I immediately followed it up a ridge. it went down the other side and back onto the ice. but it was making circles at the base of the hill. with the bow I guestimated the timing, trying to lead the target. I took a chance and shot, then I heard the familiar death howl. tango down! with the nice travois I was able to fully harvest both animals. with the wolf coat I will now have the full set of buckskin clothing. yes! I'll be playing TLD a LOT more now. these updates are AWESOME! I can't wait to find the recipes. I love cooking and I want to do it in the game too. y'all stay safe and take care! edit...just played a coupla hours. 82 days end in catastrophic failure. just froze to death in a lake I couldn't get out of. ice kept cracking. couldn't get to shore. all that time wasted...again. (censored censored)🤬 ooooh well. I think I'll have to wait before I come back to this. gotta recover from the shock. siiiiiiiigh. PERMADEATH SUCKS! it's strange how you can respawn in story mode but not in other modes. I wish that's one thing the devs would get rid of. cos this is month's worth of gameplay down the drain. I am seriously gonna have to wait several weeks before I can play again. it's SO vexing starting over with nothing. as great as this game is, permadeath ruins the whole thing. what if you slipped up after a year of playing; just a major brain fart mistake and you die? that's enough to give a guy a heart attack! edit 2...ok...so I'm gonna suck it up and deal with my death. started a new run. when I bought dlc, I didn't see the improvised crampons in the workbench menu. but since I died and restarted I see them now. I also found more food in the cabin than just potatoes and salt. the skillet is always there I guess. so maybe it was a good thing that I died. I really wanted the crampons. but already I found some really good clothing. I think I'm going to recover okay. I think my death made it better!

oh, fishing! an under...appreciated part of the game. I think you had a goal of catch one of every type of fish! so you can make progress on that next time! I look forward to it.

I'm a little behind sorry! I always think the double coal etc.. could be caused by the coal just respawning in the same place instead of a duplication bug. I could be wrong of course :)

53:50 The success chance and the amount of condition restored actually depend on your repair skill, so it's not always 100%. Before the release of dlc repair skill could be levelled up by crafting nonclothing stuff, so most people maxxed it out before they used the milling machine, and thus it appears that you could always fully repair a tool with one scrap metal.

I thought the double item glitch had been patched too but I recently experienced it again where some arrows I found beachcombing were doubled. (Side note, but beachcombing is still pretty overpowered, especially if you play with higher blizzard settings.)

I was starting to suspect that Astrid would never be at risk for scurvy.

I was just telling the wife that I've found a couple of less experienced players and watched a ton of their content recently. And how it almost makes watching you kinda boring cause you never mess up... then you have 2 bedrolls!

I love seeing how Zak does these things though instead of passing time I'd harvest the ruined clothes for cloth unless of course this results in decay since I rarely play Interloper

1:00:03 don’t know if you read this before fishing, but tip ups seems not to level up your fishing skills, and in my experience, it is not so useful. I tested a little bit and best for me is fishing 3 or 4 days straight. Yes a lot of fuel is needed…

I get lots of double sticks these days. Sometimes they even triple stack, though my save is pretty old.

Okay so we're pretty sure if we're not mistaken it has been like a couple weeks since you had put out the previous road to 500 video. And while we do know that you had been a little under the weather with your voice, we were checking the contract with our accountants and lawyers, and that means you owe us an extra video pretty quick. We would hate to file legal action, but you know we're willing to settle out of court for another road to 500 days vid by tomorrow. 😅 👍🏼

can't you just have some rosehip teas to cure scurvy. Teas will keep you warm as well if you drink once in a while I don't think you'll get scurvy risk.
