2:18:34 Mathematically, Scotland at this point still had a slim chance of qualifying based on the remaining fixtures. Must wins over Italy and Malta would get Scotland up to 13 points. Now for this series of variations. A couple of highly unlikely favours from Estonia to beat or draw with Italy and Portugal. Switzerland to beat or tie with Portugal (pending on the Estonia result later), and finally the latter and Italy achieving a draw together at best. Therefore, Scotland will finish second (13 points) ahead of Italy and Portugal each on 11/12 points. But judging on Estonia's previous form, Scotland would be asking an awful lot and so I think Andy Roxburgh made the wise decision stepping down as manger when he did.
R.I.P Alan McLoughlin who scored the equalizer McLoughlin came on as a substitute and scored a 76th-minute equalizer against Northern Ireland in a 1-1 draw at Windsor Park in a critical 1994 World Cup qualifier; the draw, combined with Spain's defeat of Denmark, meant that the Republic of Ireland team qualified for the 1994 World Cup in the United States.
No nawet Cantona nie pomógł.
France missed qualifying due to unbelievable turn of events vs Israel, Sweden and Bulgaria (conceding last minute goals in each of those games). Also important to note that Bulgaria and Sweden both ended up getting to the semifinals of WC 1994
This brings back so many memories. When i used to watch Eurosport news. what is the back ground music called( the upbeat kindof synthesizor music) when they are showing the European qualifying group standings
