Hierarchy of enemies in CS:GO for me: 1. me 2. teammates 3. enemies and the better nr 3. is or more toxic nr. 2 is, the worse nr 1. becomes. It's so frustrating to meet players who just seem to queue in order to spread toxicity, like what the f*ck are they doing with their lives? why would anyone join a match just to insult everyone? Then it's also really hard to keep up good spirits and mood in the team because most other teammates then get toxic too. Thats why I nearly only play private 10mans so everyone is known and if you're toxic you're gonna get less invites. Not the solution though good video Jeff, a lot of points I can relate to and I'm eager to see the next episode

Hey bro. Following you since the begining and I just wanna say (kind of out of the blue) that I really value you as a person. I mean, I do value you as a CSGO player (^^), but I really feel like you are a good guy and I appreciate your kindess (posture check) and self awareness. Not sure about how to put this in english but, I like the way you present your introspective videos on how to improve yourself, that you try to fix yourself goals (in game, losing weight, ECL..), etc. You are playing for fun, but always trying to improve your level / game (using your brain, not just spamming games) and it "clicks" (?) me perfectly. I may be wrong but I think you are frustrated to never gave a real shot to become pro, probably cause you were afraid to not succeed. I am delighted that you are now trying to (don't lie to me Jeff, you want to see if you can match those pro dudes), and I am 100% sure that you can do that. BUT, if I may, I would like to see you succeed doing what you do best : being funny, thinking outside of the box, and trying ballsy stuff during real games ;-) That's a lot of words, probably looking like a simp right now, but you do deserve that message. So why not ?

Im really glad during the course of this series we get to see you improve so much more and unlock your hidden potential as a cs player.
@InterfectorII
@InterfectorII Год назад
Great Video! Very relatable for me! There are some minor details on wich I wouldn't agree 100% but over all I totally agree! I would add that playing solo queue is really about your personal way of playing. You mentioned that you should try to avoid tilting over your mates because you dont have control over them. I think you can do more than that. I think a good way to prevent the tilt is trying to predict their mistakes and then playing accordingly. If your mates hide on the exit of A ramp Mirage then you have to realize that and simply hold the first angle you come across in order to 1. secure at least some space (enemy might even agressivly counter peak to get intel (because nothing is happening)) and 2. not throwing your own round in an heroic attempt to clear propably a dozen angles all by yourself. In other words try to get into a carry mentality. The potential of carrying on high elo with raw aim is slim I'd say. At least for humans ;D. It is all about decision making! You have to quickly adapt to your whole strategy rapidly changing because your mates don't act accordingly.

2:59 That's actually an issue I also still have. Always duck and spray. Thing is, that was meta in 1.6 and I played it for 25.000 - 30.000 hours and it's burned into my mind. I'm 8.000 hours into CSGO and still do that. Re-Building that takes hundreds of hours actively re-learning the game and I'm just not motivated enough to do that (have other more important things to do and spend less time/energy into csgo). Really great content Yeff. One thing I haven't seen and would find very interesting is mechanical evolution during these grinds: I'm thinking you could do a 10 minute aim bot "benchmark" every few weeks and see if the improvements you are making translate to a quantifiable mechanical difference. I think ELO is a great measure (instead of global elite or lvl 10), but would be very interested in something that removes the teamplay aspect, not because it isn't important, but because it introduces some randomness to your results. It would be interesting to see how much you improve your mechanics when you are trying.
@Abhi-ff2cr
@Abhi-ff2cr 2 года назад
i agree, sometimes in csgo, it IS really down to the mechanics. I only started to notice this myself when i started watching twitch streams of pros and saw how different it felt to watch their POV vs my demos.

You just summed up how to improve on anything. The problem comes from people believing they are faultless. We love to blame anyone but ourselves. Its remarkable to have the ability to self evaluate and fix faults and I wish it was more common. Even with that said we wont be perfect but wont stop trying to get better.
@marlan__
@marlan__ 2 года назад
Houngoungagne, my advice if you want it, coming from someone who got to top 50 NA in Dota (I know, not the same game, but similar concepts) 1. Adapt 1 of 2 mentalities regarding comm. 1a. Mute everyone (disable chat & voice) - The effect of tilt in public matchmaking is much worse than the advantage of having comms from people who are clueless. Unless you're playing with pros the pubs often have absolutely no clue what they're talking about, no matter the rank. Even people with high rank often just grinded and are still clueless. Use your minimap for SA to make up for lack of comm, this will also act as a sort of "training weights" for when you do turn comms back on and have good teammates. 1b. Alternatively just immediately mute any trouble makers. Do not try to talk them down, it'll work once in never and will only fuel their trolling and cause you to tilt yourself too and feel hopeless. Just mute and play your best. 2. Sounds like you already are doing this, but never blame your team. They suck, that's basically just assumed, you'll get carried once in awhile but if you're trying to climb and you think you deserve to climb that means your team is worse than you. If you want to be better you have to improve yourself, never ever blame your team, blame yourself. No matter how awful they are, you could always do *something* better. 3. Watch lots of replays, of both yourself and of good players. Not necessarily just pro matches (but those are good too) because those play differently than pub matchmaking, find "pub stompers" and smurfs and watch how they play too. Good smurf replays are gold because they have learned how to excel in public matchmaking. 4. Always play to the bitter end, never surrender, never give up, it's practice for when games actually are recoverable in different circumstances. There are obviously some exceptions to this rule like if your entire team is AFK or something. Additionally, if you want to take a Chaotic Evil approach you can try some "psy ops", identify a weak player on your opponents team and instigate their side to start flaming before your side does. This will often prevent insults from starting on your own team as well. E.g. "Wow, Player A just keeps letting me have A site for free!" it shouldn't be mean, just plant the seed, their own toxicity will do the rest. Obviously a less morally just tactic, but it absolutely works.

Last game I had on faceit, team demanded I planted the bomb with no info, didn't even secure the site and of course I got killed and we lost the round. Pistol round, by the way. For a long time I've accepted that it's better to play as a team, even if it's a bad call, if you play with your team you have a better chance. But that just pissed me off when I was already frustrated, muted them and just played the rest of the round as deathmatch. I was under the impression faceit was supposed to have good players that actually care, so far it's been trash.

Hey Jeff! To deal better with your m8s you can improve your leaderships skills as well, and not just work on not getting triggered. In the last example you have showed, your own ego was getting in your way. You THINK you have a good idea with controlling apps, but you don’t have consent from your m8s. They don’t accept you as a leader. One way to do this, is to ask “does anyone have a great idea?” Or “I would suggest to control apps, because they are low on money. What do you Gus thinks? Or do you have a better idea?” In the situation with the toxic guy at dust_2: remember everyone wants to be loved. I often “defuse” situations like that by phrases like “hey yellow, you sound like a nice guy. Did you had a bad day / bad games today?” 2 good books on this topic are the 5 dysfunctions in teams, and why people need you to lead us. I normally build companies, but what I have learned there works very well in CSGO solo queue as well ;) great series, keep it up 👍🏼

Great explanation about how you handle yourself around toxic team mates. In my opinion, it's actually applicable to other games. THanks for the valuable lesson jeff! I also learned a lot by watching you for a few years

hats off man, i am literly stucked at lvl 3 and 4 cause of me being tilted every single match, i just can not handle the ammout of low iq on 90% of my teammates, so i easily get tilted, one more to mention, most of the teamamtes act as u r their enemy, when u give a call like, last 2 a lets go b etc. good for u that u do not get tilted and still can improve, btw i go most impact in most of my games, still in somehow can not manage to win. my avg rating is 1.5 and kd is 1.7, still losing, and yes kd does not mean anything, but i have 90% of my games the most entries, trades, ud etc.. still losing.

It motivates me to actually play seriously at the game, which I didn't do for years as i didn't have objectives and prefered trolling raging russians.

10:27 That's the vicious cycle of Faceit. You meet people being idiots, you in turn act like an idiot. And later on you make others act like idiots. That's why I stuck with MM. Faceit players forget that it's just a game. And boy, am I glad CS2 is coming with better servers, so even less reason to play on that toxic cesspool.

i think in faceit level 6-8 is most nicest people in cs, last week i played first time with the ''big boys'' and the toxicty level was something else :DD

Damn, I needed this video a long time ago. To be honest, the main reason for me to ever attempt ranking up in CSGO was to get to a level where people would actually focus on playing the game instead of being shitheads. I quit the game years ago, but I would've had a completely different approach to it if I knew the cancer goes all the way up. Idk what it is about games like this that attracts the worst people the world has to offer. Or maybe most people are this shitty and just legitimately scared to be like this in everyday life, either way there's literally no reason not to just turn off voice chat and stay low elo.

When did you do the "Road to Global" ? If it was before the June 2021 update (when they changed Prime status from "free" to "paid"), then maybe it is worth giving another shot as after the update amount of cheaters have drastically decreased.
