Okay so, I play dnd right? and recently Ive been making my own campaign, and I have been having trouble keeping the theme right, nothing worked, until this here...holy mackerel... I just have this on repeat and It keeps the theme of Medieval times in my head when writing the lore n character script, the names and all sorts...im loving this, man! P.S: who's Listening in 2018?
So I had been playing violin since I was a child, but then I injured my left shoulder and could not hold the violin for more than five minutes without extreme pain and numbness. I was extremely bummed. Then I had a eureka moment, maybe I could hold it in my lap and play it like a cello. I looked around on the internets to see if any one else was doing this, since obviously the "correct" bow hold doesn't work and I discovered the viol. I spent a lot of time researching, and finally purchased a used treble viol. I am pleased to say that I love this instrument more than I ever loved the violin. Thank you for being one of my guideposts.
Ah nice to hear that. For me it is the opposite, I don't play the viol anymore but only violin (from the string instruments), but I can imagine I still like the sound.
I just want you to know that I got here because I rolled a bard at DnD beyond and never heard of some of the instruments listed there. Love this song, didnt know the name.
@@twilightrising5443 Me too. I wanted to hear some viol and boy did this deliver. I'm a Forest Gnome so all the larger viols were just not quite right for my character, but the treble is just perfect.
Incredibly haunting! You definitely have to do more irish thrad with the viol. I'd really love to hear more irish tunes with the standard viola da gamba. Cheers!
+Ernst Stolz I beg you to play the Butterfly jig, as slow and hauting as you want, and a fast reel too (whichever you like) Viola da gamba is a really interesting sounding instrument, and by just writing "irish music viola da gamba", you'll catch some attention.
Op een gegeven ogenblik ben ik viool gaan spelen en daarmee werd de viola da gamba eigenlijk overbodig, maar daarvoor heb ik alle types gamba graag gespeeld.
