Amazing Video.Last September we went to Lunana on Snowman Trek and it’s fascinating to see the drastic improvement in the livelihood of the highlander compared to this video in 2007.
A wonderful video, portraying an adventurous journey to a remote, serene location in Bhutan, saturated with the pride of being the harbingers of democracy and being able to help the inhabitants with simple medicines...
These are not poor and backward people - we are in the west ,attached as we are to material gain. There is so much we could learn from these people and also so much we could also offer, but not what we want rather what we need. My only worry is that their more 'developed' countryfolk do not exploit their innocence for personal gain, as we seeso often in the west.
Came here after watching the excellent Oscar-nominated movie 'Lunana - A Yak in the Classroom'. The script is clearly government propaganda and there is a notable absence of younger women/girls. One day, these pre-industrial communities will be modernised ... as always, education is the key! R (Australia)
