Road Trip #217 - US Highway 49 North - Gulfport to Wiggins, Mississippi
The second video in our US-49 series, we begin at the northern city limits of Gulfport in Harrison county, and travel through the Desoto National Forest through the towns of Saucier, McHenry and Perkinston, and finish at the junction of MS-26 in Wiggins, Mississippi in Stone County.

Talk about a trip down memory lane i worked at the hood mill in wiggins and drove this exact route up from gulfport to work every day. It really is a scenic route crazy part is watching some of those places flood during the hurricane season.

I love Highway 49 in Mississippi! There’s a great BBQ restaurant/gas station called Rose’s BBQ I have to go every time I make the road trip from Cincinnati.

So Interstate 49 and US Highway49 is in Same Geographic area? I know they are in different states. Back then ,people would be confuse with highway for interstate. ;)

They actually both exist in Arkansas, which may be the only example of such a thing. They're on opposite sides of the state, and there's not much of I-49 in Arkansas currently. At the northern terminus of US-49 in Piggott, Arkansas, it's 223 miles east of I-49 in Bentonville, Arkansas. At one time, there was a very out of place "to I-59" sign on I-12 to prevent confusion because LA Hwy 59 is about 20 miles from I-59.
