What a fair dinkum adventure! Great video very much enjoyed it. I had no idea Turkey was so beautiful what a stunning part of the world. This will be our next holiday destination after watching this ✈⛵
Turkey looks like a great place to visit. Great video and love your style of presenting places. It's real and down to earth. Just for the record I hate bloody polished fancy dressed presenters/vloggers look at me, look at me 🤮
I was at Fethiye/Ölüdeniz are in the early 80,s i stayed in a cabin and the farmer drove our group out to the campsite on a trailer behind his tractor,I can’t believe the development since then .one thing I’m sure that hasn’t changed is the hospitality of the people of Türkiye.
I went to Ölüdeniz in 1986 and the beach was covered with oil/tar - either from tourist boast or maybe an oil spill. Great to see it cleaned up. Back then Kas had just a tiny harbour, which was extended when I went back in 1988 and seems to have been further expanded since.
I would like to correct a mistake. Kaş was not a Greek city in the early 1920s. Byzantines lived in this region before the Turks, and it was never the city of today's Greece. Turker settled in the region in the 1300s. It was an Ottoman city where mostly Greeks lived (this is a more accurate term). Extra note: I can say that this is the first time I see someone choosing real Turkish music as their music choice.
Thank you very for making the effort to correct that. Everyday is a class room 😊 Love the Turkish culture and music makes the video feel more authentic in our view. Thanks again for your comment 🤠👍🏼
Yes, was Byzantium. What was Ottoman then? You got your correction. Gerçekleri değişteremezssin istesende, istemesende, ölene kadar senin için acı olan gerçeği duyucakcın.
Checked Kaş out of curiosity bc I know that area to be Lycian territory in ancient times. Turkish Wikipedia states that it was Lycians, people who spoke Luwian language and they were Mesopotamian people who spoke a variation of Hittite language. I didn't see any Byzantium reference so I doubt @tesekkur's remark below is correct. East Roman empire ruled that area but it's obvious Kaş and the area around is Lycian when it comes to historical heritage and the supporting archeology is everywhere. The Meis island right across Kaş is also not Greek historically, the Hospitalier Knights (originally in Italy, currently existing in Rome under the name The Order of Malta) used to inhabit the island to support Catholic pilgrims.
Hey guys, really love this video my partner and I are binge watching your videos at the moment! So well shot and you guys seem so sweet! Fellow Australian Turkish fan here 🎉❤
Your channel deserves millions of subscribers love all your travel documentaries....easily one the better travel vlogs out there. You are both real and down to earth....thank you!🥰🥰
You've done a fantastic job, great camera work of the breathtaking scenery, well narrated...you're pros at it. This deserves thousands of views. I'm glad you had such a great time there 🙂🏖
Hi Guys nice to see some Aussies vlogging their travels I can’t believe I’ve only just found your channel after watching others for the last 18 months. Hubby and I will be on the road in about two years and Turkey is defs high on the list. Thanks for showing some of the places along the coastline I’ve now added a few more stops to our travels 😂 safe travels
G'day guys glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah Turkey is such a beautiful place and a bucket list destination for sure. Next weeks video is on Cappadocia and is also another destination in Turkey you have to experience. We hope your travel plans come together 👍🏼🤠
Introduce Turkey as a documentary, so those who watch you will come to Turkey. On behalf of the Turkish people, I would like to thank you. Have a nice day.
As a half Turkish Greek man (my dad side is Turkish whereas my mother side is Greek where it is called Crete, Hania) I can say that Turkish riviera has changed more than I thought over the years when I saw the video without a doubt. The organization, the quality of roads, the opportunities of accommodation and so on. Greece is still incomporable when it comes to the beauty we're surrounded by; yet, Turkey tends to be a better option than Greece in a long term if they want to do, including the families and retired people compared to Greece hosts per year.
I have been in Greece twice, Greece is only more beautiful than Turkiye in marketing, big cities are ugly in Greece, you can't compare Athens with Istanbul or Thessaloniki with Izmir. I think only Santorini is very beautiful in Greece but Turkiye has Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Ephesus. Much more beauiful places.
Tourist numbers data doesn't quite confirm you, my friend. Greece is far behind Turkey in terms of tourist attraction. I think you're stuck in an echo chamber.
Thanks for the trip back in time , really wanted to see Antalya again . Certainly got bigger since 1968 :-) Yet the old harbour is still there . Was on the school ship MS Uganda , med cruise , was 14 :-) Ship was too big to dock , ashore in the lifeboats :-) Also went to an ampitheatre , the sound system really works . Apparently St John was walking the area . Few of us got chatting with some guys in a ' cafe' close to the harbour . One offered a friend a drink , was clear , thought it was water :-) NOT :-) Welcome to Ouzo :-) Was a bit of a shock , we were still only 14 :-) Was suspicious of the " Turkish Delight ' on sale at the quay , was correct , grotty boiled sweets ! Did you see any puzzle rings , were really cheap back then , we found out later they were puzzle rings :-) Dang , looks like it was all that time ago . Can also see us in that taverna just behind the ruins :-) And tree :-) Or just a little further back :-) Thanks :-)
Çay is turkish traditional drink for decades.. you don't know how long the Çay has been in turkish community for years and years. Keep searching the history of TÜRKİYE
Yeah but how long it is? Before the embargos in 60's, tea wasn't really a Turkish thing. Hell, it was some Englishman who actually realised Eastern Black Sea region is suitable for tea growing Turkish tradition revolves around coffee. Not tea
Hi Guys. Thanks for sharing. Totally awesome photography and narration. Fellow Aussie looking at a week along the rivera next August. Not looking forward to the heat through lol As a Perthite and use to the heat i still hate it lol We are spending a week on a cruise, then 2 weeks on Kefalonia. Smaller island in Greece. Kef is my happy place i want to retire to. Just love it. Then 8 nights in Turkey. Given me some ideas. I dont mind driving on the wrong side of the road. How did you find getting parking in these places. Not sure whether to do a road trip like you did. A cruise on a smaller boat for a few nights. Did Sail Croatia last year for a week and loved it. Or camp up somewhere for the week. We will be a little beached out by the time we get to Turkey after 2 weeks on Kef. I see you did Capadocia as well. We did Istanbul and Capadocia last August and loved it. Off to watch it now. Thanks again. Caz
Hi Caz thanks for your comment. We haven't been to Kef.....yet but totally agree with ya the Greek Islands is our happy place 💙 We are from WA as well up in Exmouth. Now base ourselves in Brissy when we are back in Australia. You will love the Turkish Riviera especially during the summer and the beaches are amazing. Hope your plans work out. Warm regards Tim & Serena 💚💛
@@FairDinkumAdventure Thanks Tim and Serena. We are reverse lol Im from Brissy but moved to Perth years ago. All my family are there. Even though ive lived in Perth longer than i ever lived in Brissy i still call it home. Just waiting for my FIFO hubby to come home so we can finalise everything. Cant wait to go. Happy and safe travels to you both. Caz
@@FairDinkumAdventure , great video. Yes Turks were coffee drinkers originally and through the Ottomans, coffee was introduced to world becoming Turkish Coffee worldwide. When Ottomans lost Yemen where coffee was imported from, it became expensive Tea was introduced and grown in the black sea region and became more popular by 1940's and tea was integrated with one most popular breakfast in world i think being Turkish breakfast i am sure you enjoyed. Now the Turks are biggest tea drinkers worldwide around 3-4 kg per person annually.
Çay olmaz ise olmazımızdır.çaysız bir günümü düşünemiyorum.Türk kahvesi ise başka bir Dünya tadını bir kere alan kesinlikle mudavimi olacaktır.@@FairDinkumAdventure
Thanks Nigel glad you enjoyed it. Hey great pick up about the castle. It's called Kizkalesi Castle, Maiden Castle - Also known as Korykos. It's close to Mersin right on the coastal highway from Antalya to Mersin. It did not feature in the Turkish Riviera but will be in a future video - Road Trip Antalya to Mersin. We used it as reference in regard to how easy and accessible many of the ancient ruins are along the Turkish Coastline. Cheers Tim & Serena 👍🏽🤠
Thanks Daniel 🙏🏼 We hired the car from Europcar in Kusadasi and returned it to them at Antalya Airport. We had to pay extra because we were not returning it back to Kusadasi 👍🏼🤠
The comments regarding the Turkish tea history was wrong..Turks drinks tea and coffee since Ottoman time! Turks didn't learn tea culture from India like British did!!
Thank you for you comment but the history books say otherwise that tea arrived to Türkiye from Japan for the first time in 1894 during the reign of Abdülhamid the second. From then on, tea became a popular beverage in the Ottoman palace, however outside the palace the public did not know it until the mid 20th century
Hi, we hired the car in Kusadasi and dropped it off at the Antalya Airport. Because it was not return we had to pay an extra cost of a one way hire fee through Europcar Hire. We had just over one week and visited Ephesus first. We think next time we would take a few extra days as there were some other beautiful places we had to miss because of time. Hope that info helps 👍🏼🤠
From 1200 years until today, these lands belong to the Turks. Since then, they have neither been Greek nor the lands of other countries. You are being a bit offensive when you say they are Greek lands.
Sorry but you completely miss understand. All the Greek Islands we are referring to are all those that are part of Greece and NOT Turkey Kos, Kalymnos, Rhodos and many more that are off the coast of mainland Turkey
Hi guys while I loved your trip, I really feel as presenter s of Turkiye ,you should really learn the correct way to pronounce the names of different places and things!
Thank you for your comment yes thats one of the hardest things as travellers when you are only in a place for a short time to know exactly how to pronounce the name of places especially in another language that is not ours 🥴
What this man saying that turkish did not drink tea couple of years ago is not correct Tea was planting In Turkiye since 1924 to 1938 but drinking and knowing tea is dated back centuries before as you know during ottomans time Today Turkiye was playing important role along silk road many Chinese persian and Indian products reach Europe through Ottomans empire also Turks as nation were among first nation in the world to contact ancient Chinese as they were neighbors They also invade and dominate china several times in the ancient time
Do not travel there; they decided to reduce their stray dog population by confining them to dog death camps, so-callled "shelters." Dogs are considered "dirty" by Islam, and Turkey is not any different. Think of the animals that are dying there, and check the news provided by "Species Unite" and other networks.
Turkiye is for sure one of the best destinations to visit! Great history, nice people, warm hospitality, food, and beautiful nature make your holiday fantastic! I have been visiting Turkey for the summer holiday since 2005, mostly in the Bodrum area, and I hope this will continue in the current year as well..
Brilliant guys, simply brilliant!! Menekşe’s roots are Turkish and we love exploring this beautiful country!! Her parents live just outside Didum and buy their fruits and veg at that bazaar every Friday. We had to take a close look to see if we could see them 😀 Really looking forward to follow your Turkish journey 👏👏👏 Cheers, Menekşe and James
This is the best travel videos I have watched on RU-vid. Loved your Oman video series but this video series on Turkey is now my favourite. Looking forward to your next video on Cappadocia
Thank you for the video. This is almost the same route we plan to take. The video is wonderfully shot which adds to the excitement of going there. However just wondering which month of the year you were traveling? We are going in Sept and wondering how the weather will be.
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it 🙏🏼 We did the road trip late August last year. Weather was very hot so we always made time for the beach to cool down. Hope you have a great trip 🤠👍🏼
It felt like there was a documentary crew behind you. You've brought out the fictional narration wonderfully. I can't believe how much relief I felt just by watching it as if I were watching a documentary. Beautiful places, good energy and good work, congratulations.👏👏👏
antalya has the worlds longest beach and besy beaches free just go to lara bech oryou need to be in places like kemer, belek, side alanya for breaches also top hotels are in these resoprts
Thank you glad you enjoyed the video. We hired a car from Europcar in Kusadasi and returned it at Antalya Airport. Parking can issue be a issue in some areas like famous beaches or the old town especially during peak holiday time. But we still managed to find a space to park 🤠👍🏼
Thank you for the prompt reply. Thank you for very valuable information. After watching your video, my husband and I can’t wait to go to Turkiye next month.

It is so funny when you hear English speaking people to try to pronounce the new name of Turkey (Turkiye) cause Erdogan didn't like the similarity to the well known bird .
The name Turkey was giving due to the ignorance of the West at that time. Türkiye means land of Turks like Thailand or Deutchland. İt is our country so we have right to choose the name. More over Türkiye is the aproved name by the UN. İt is our country so İt is Türkiye.. Thats İt
@@FairDinkumAdventure The actual word should be Turkia in English, it was what Atatürk and his friends called the country actually. But, because of a thing called "Vowel Harmony" which is intrinsical to Turkish language, Türkiya does not sound Turkic. Because you can't have ü, i and also "a" in a Turkic originated word.
Why should they stop?? There video there choice, you dont have to watch it. Nothing wrong with the music goes perfectly with the video and they never said it was Turkish music
