Thanks for the great Vlogs! I am using them to plan a CA to CO road trip and so many great ideas and tips. Really REALLY appreciate the work you put into them and I am a new subscriber. You inspire me to want to get out & hike! Here's one for you: I LOVE traveling with my Hario brand Japanese hand-held coffee "makers" and filters, along with a non-glass electric kettle to boil water. Can use hot water for a multitude of things besides coffee: tea, ramens,, backpacking meals, packaged and dried soups, oatmeal, etc. etc. The coffee maker comes in durable glass, ceramic and unbreakable stainless steel versions. Very durable. Comes with a coffee measure (level measure for "regular" and heaping for "strong." It's handy to bring along something to set it on after your cup is done brewing (like a metal cup or a small bowl / container that fits it's 'neck') to set it on while it continues dripping a bit. Folded up paper towels just don't cut it. If you like refills, Hario make a great little thermos too - but that may be overkill - because you can always just use an extra insulated drinking thermos while on the road. Prepare as you like & your 2nd cup is hot & ready to go/ready to drink. Less messy than using a French Press and no dilemma about what to do with all those messy leftover grounds. I guess you can always sprinkle them on plants that like them but it's a lot more washing up. With the filter you can just toss them (& you can still sprinkle most of the grounds on plants that love caffeine too, (like most trees & geraniums for example). Makes excellent coffee once you get used to it. Be careful NOT to bump it while brewing. That can be a real mess. Best when the top of the cup fits the maker well and isn't too wide. If it is, then you've got to use the finger hold to keep it steady. Comes with an all-languages picture illustration. Grind beans for a "pour over" or for a French press. Every cup you make is hot & fresh. I don't get as creeped out by the in-room coffee makers as much as I do the thought of cooking coffee through non-silicone, cheap, plastic parts. And glass carafes can easily break. Been using my Harios for years now and they work great / travel great. Yummy coffee ... now ... somebody, pass the cream!
Canned foods. Camping food made easy. If you don't care about being classy you can eat it right out of the can cold. And there's some variety. Fruit, soup, pasta, chili. Never thought about hard boiling eggs to bring. That's a good idea. Carrot sticks are a good snack, needs dip though. Thanks for the ideas.

When it came to the coffee maker in the hotel room I was talking to your video yelling "thank you, thank you". However, I was on the floor when you said you brought your own coffee maker with you but thought, "what a great idea". Next time that is me! Thank you so much for this video because we are road-tripping this weekend and I got lots of tips I can use.
What are the odds??!! I'm searching for travel food ideas because we booked Glacier lol. We've never been but are leaving in August from Florida. So allot of driving and snacking. Thanks for sharing your ideas. ☺️
We have been married for over 50 years. (Hard to believe) We do the same as you guys over the years. Great info. Don’t forget your binoculars. Oh, and remember to bring your kites, wether the box kites or two string variety. One reason we did lots of road-trips was I used to hang glide so we would go to different places to fly. Anyway, happy road trippin. P.S. don’t forget to bring the drone. Lol
We had to cancel 4 trips this yr as well so disappointing but we are trying to make the best of 2020. We will be road tripping up north MN for a couple days and then next month we will be road tripping to Mt Rushmore & other parks for hiking. For breakfast& lunch is the easiest I always bring cereals, cooked breakfast sausage and raisin bread but I will need bring my toaster since im sure we're not allow to use the hotel during this time and lunch is good old sandwiches, chips and dill pickles. This yr will be different we usually go out for dinner but probably will be bringing our griddle to cook.Where did you get the RX bars? Go to snacks is Nature's Valley bars, Hot flaming Cheetos, Ritz cracker W/ cheese for packing in the hiking bag.. Im looking forward to your vlog on MT.
Oh I'm sorry, you've had a bunch of trips canceled too! But you have the right attitude...we just have to make the best of 2020! 👌 Love your meal ideas! Those are great suggestions! I bought the RX bars from Walmart! Have so much fun Up North and out in South Dakota! I will have a vlog on SD coming up as we went through there on our way back home from Montana! Hi Carolyn, Jelly is not required to be refrigerated. On the label, it says refrigerate in order to last longer. However, Jam or jelly will generally keep up to 30 days unrefrigerated. Definitely, not something to worry about if you are traveling less than 30 days, it will last :)
