I am down in the USA, northeastern Illinois and not at all likely to be building anything as I have none of those skills, nor hunting or fishing but I do enjoy watching your videos, on both channels. Too bad I got interested late in life (76) because from a health stand point really too old to be doing much of anything EXCEPT, hopefully, some more car (Jeep) camping. I did a little in 2016 and hope to do some more this summer. However, I have learned a number of things indirectly from you such as using a draw knife to remove bark from timber and the reason why, how logs fit together to build your cabin, and your cooking on your cabin stove. I AM curious as to how you managed to train your dog Calli. She seems pretty well trained, although I have not seen any video where she was doing any retrieving of bird game, especially in water. Found out my older brother has been watching your videos as well and I might have found a camp mate in him. He and his wife have been boating for the last 40 years, last 10 on a 40’ trawler, but that has reached a zenith so maybe camping with me is an alternative. I WOULD like to see a little more detail on how you do things, and less time spent on a repetitive thing such as chipping wood out of a joint or draw knifing a piece of wood for something not explained. Also on your hunting expeditions, under what circumstances do you use a bow, a rifle. Do you use traps of any kind? Do you tan any hides of big animals such as deer? What sort of trail food do you take along on your scout trips? All for now. Geo.

@Sharon61 Sharon I think you are so right. I have always wondered about these negative people. They like that control the button gives them as you say. I think they want to control us and make our lives as miserable as theirs. And yes, I think they are very jealous of other's hard work. Some I think don't even care for the subject they are viewing but do it for the mere spite and control. It must float their boat. I agree with you that they should grow up and live life. Labs are the best. We have had numerous dogs over the yrs, all kinds, except little dogs. I don't like little dogs. Seem they are best at barking. Anyway, I'm too old now to be a good companion for a large dog, so since Fred died some yrs back, I have filled my house with cats. A whole new dynamic.

Honestly..it is all in the preparation for the outing. You need the gear and there is great gear available. And you need to be smart...it takes huge amounts of energy to hike/snowshoe through some of the snow but sweating is the enemy...address it with proper wicking clothes and wool or use other techniques such as slowing down at times. And if needed...a pack with dry clothes that you can change into...even super quickly. You have to keep the core of the body warm.
