Dani, absolutely correct, Jim Morrison had awesome voice. He’s not at his best here in 1970, however, and you can hear that in his voice. Drugs and alcohol were taking its toll and he was soon to pass away.
Dani you could go down the rabbit hole with the doors and Jim Morrison. So much to learn. They had an indelible place in rock history for good or for bad. They Where are the quintessential representation of the tumultuous times of the late 60s and early 70s.
I'm glad to see you react to a harder rocking song than I've seen you do. The Doors have some softer hits, too, in which Jim Morrison's voice is smoother, more like Elvis and some of the other male singers you've reacted to. If that interests you, I'd recommend "Light My Fire", "Riders on the Storm", and "Touch Me". If you want to watch an awesome hard rocking female Blues singer, check out Beth Hart with Joe Bonamassa doing "I'd Rather Go Blind" live in Amsterdam.
The footage of him in the crowd when the fan was playing with his hair was at a Rolling Stones concert. I’m actually surprised, but very glad, you enjoyed this. I hope you give their song, Queen Of The Highway, a listen.
Aww Dani I found this thing on you tube. Its young people reacting to music from 50 years ago when I was young. I am making the 1st comment here in "2 years" it looks like. I love your reaction channel because the music is clear and I can turn it up loud and I can tell you appreciate this music. Today all music in the Genres sounds the same no matter what Genre, from Rap/Hiphop to Country music. There is no longer Rock and Roll
In my humble opinion this is the best Doors song that they played live. They have great songs but this is my favorite live performance. Shout out to Ray Manzarek on the keys. Just doing work.
So, basically this is what the doors are. Considering the Beatles pretty much came from Liverpool, these 4 guys from different parts of the country. For instance, Keyboardist/bassist Ray Manzarek played ChicAgo Blues, Californian guitarist Robby Krieger brought flamenco, bottleneck and rock styles, and drummer Jobs Densmore implemented weaved jazz and Latin with blues and pop. Jim Morrison was a ferocious reader, had a photographic memory, and wrote most of the lyrics. That’s the sum up of The Doors
It's great to see you reacting to The Doors. Their lead singer was Jim Morrison and they were a classic rock band from the 1960s. Other songs from them that I would highly recommend you try are "Light My Fire", "Hello, I Love You", "L.A. Woman", and "Riders On The Storm".
I love the fact that you were enjoying the music 🎵🔥❤️The Doors music 🎶🎤🎸 took you to another level of existence! The best American band of all time in my opinion.
Jim Morrison was a poet among lyricists. This one is probably the least poetic of his songs. Try "The End" or "LA Woman" for a good sample of his writing.
You should watch The Doors movie with Val Kilmer playing Jim Morrison. Fun fact about Val is he asked the director if he could sing in the movie. The director of course said no but said if you bring 3 samples of music and if I can’t tell the difference between you and Jim then you can sing in the movie. Val got his wish and sings some of the songs.
Didnt discover Doors till 1980.. at 20, 9 years after Jim had died. Became obsessed.. listened to every song hunfreds of times. The Doors are a real treat. Some great stuff.. the famous songs and then Five to One.. which is Masterpieces and WASP texas radio and big beat from LA Woman album. The Changeling is a masterpiece..
That riff from this song was the first I learned about 10yrs old uncle skim thought me similar to poke salad annie. It never let me down dont matter what dive bar I was in you play that riff it gets people attention..love your reaction beautiful lady..
Welcome to the tribe. The Doors IS THE BAND. Im listening them since im 16 and now im 39. Exist a lot of very good bands in music, but they are absolutly poetry, philosophy, misticy and rock and roll. Nobody like them. Wilderness, warm, softly..Jim Morrison is the best frontman ever.
Dani, I am a fan of the Doors since the beginning. Only Dylan is in the same level of poet that Jim Morrison attained. My favorites are "Break on Through", "Crystal Ship", "" and "Touch Me". A classic blues piece that is marvelous is "Back Door Man". So many bands from this era were great, but there were a few that were unique and The Doors was one of them.
@@re1840 I have listened to every doors album. I am a big fan, but half of their music is pretty bad in my opinion. Morrison and the band were probably on acid trips when they wrote it. As Morrison fell more and more in to drugs and alcohol it ruined his creative abilities. They still continued to put out some great songs, but a lot of it I find to be this really mystical wanna be poetic stuff. So yes, their hits were their best. Love Street is a song that is not as popular that I like. Built it is just a nice pretty pop song. It is not brilliant. I do really like like their first record because it is so raw. Morrison seemed really present on that whole record. Besides light my fire and break on through, I think soul kitchen, twentieth century fox, alabama song and back door man all are really good. But I still think the big radio hits are a little better. Not to touch the earth is cool and moonlight drive captures their sound nicely. are are really. People are strange, hello i love you and love me two times are decent, but not great songs. Of course I really like LA woman, roadhouse blues and riders on the storm. Peace frog is ok.
@@Hollingsworth2781 So i think Morrison used LSD as a direct aesthetic inspiration for his poetry. He almost used it as a tool. Sure Jim's heart wasn't in it at times but even with his last album with The Doors had some solid tracks: Crawling King Snake, Changling, Texas Radio. I believe the record label pushed The Doors to do an album when it wasn't necessary. "Wanna be poet?" Wow... I love there longer songs like The End, When The Music's Over, and The Celebration of the Lizard. I think you can clearly tell when Jim wanted to be there and when he didn't. It sucks when a record company is telling you what to do. No artistic freedom, nope they had a sound and had to stick with it.
Dani, your cute. You have a lot of Doors to listen to if you want to understand Mr. Mojo Risin. By the way, that's a Acronym for Jim Morrison. That's how intelligent he was. Mr. Mojo Risin...you got to keep on rising!
Now that you've been suggested nearly the whole Doors catalog, I'll add 'Crystal Ship', 'Strange Days', and 'Cars Hiss by My Window'. Btw, Jim Morrison, the singer and main writer, died in Paris, 1971, apparently of a drug OD. And Ray Manzarek, the organist passed away several years ago. So half of the Doors are closed, and the other two are open, you might say.
An extremely diverse group that was a lot of fun to see around town in Los Angeles back in the 60’s..I’d recommend listening to the studio version of “The End” from their first album...and ..Not To Touch The Earth from their Waiting For The Sun Album..
This looks like the show in Florida where Jim was arrested for public indecency. He went on trial and did not enjoy the experience at all; it contributed to his downfall.
jim morrison an american poet thats how ppl describe him most of the times u c ppl rushing the stage it was him provoking the crowd that sometimes the cops end up arressting him as the only solution nice reaction not all ppl will feel the doors for what they are from the first listen but u kinda did so im positive u ii enjoy them more and more with each new song word of advice check out the band's history it's really interesting
Him morrison is one of the most intriguing rock dinners of all time i recommend to you 3 songs. All are more enjoyable if you read about their meanings a little. L.A. Woman, Riders on the storm and the greatest breakup song of all time The End
I used to think the Doors were the best American band of the 1960s. And then I heard "Forever Changes" by Love and had to move them down one position. "Alone Again Or" is maybe the most famous track but every track is brilliant also. Check them out, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Light My Fire was their top song but other great Doors songs I would recommend are LA Woman, Love Her Madly, Hello I Love You and Love Me Two Times. (Lots of songs with "love" in the title!)
Very nice review video (of my all time favorite band)! Admittedly though, that pause at 3:16 did hurt a little, right at the start of the instrumental part :')
Great video and reaction to one of the best bands ever 🤙🏼. Would you please react to light my fire, live by the doors from the Hollywood bowl 1968. Queen of the Highway is also a really good song by them
Morrison, an intellectual and poet who read voraciously, was into Artaud and the theater of provocation--inciting audience reaction. This led to his Dinner Key Theater bust for exposing himself, which was still pending at the time of his mysterious death in Paris in 1971, if I'm correct. Drunk, lout, buffoon, teen pinup idol, performance genius...Jim remains a mixed bag, all these years later.
Jim Morrison was a true wild child, lots of drugs and booze. Got arrested for exposing himself on stage in Miami, 1967. Oh, and the band had no bass player. Bass lines were played by the keyboardist.
They didn't have a bass player on stage for their live shows but did have one on their album recordings. Just to point that out to those who may not know.
Back in that time , I had stopped in a place that was kind of a "head shop " and came across a belt that was very close to what he was wearing in this vid . Thought it was soo very cool. Wore it to school and got harassed and had my butt kicked all day long and they finally tore it off me and tore it into pieces and pelted me with the pieces . And people these days whine about micro aggression .
Back in the day most men could only have short hair, society frowned upon long haired men and musicians, that's why she touched his hair, probably never been that close to a man with long hair before especially Jim Morrison!
