There is a public television appearance by the Doors after the concert in Miami debacle where they perform live a rare track called THE SOFT PARADE. Jim Morrison has a beard and is transitioning away from the popular Young Lion pose you see on this album jacket. But his voice is in top form. The group is bristling with raw energy. And Jim is marauding around the soundstage like a hu guy lion. You will see the full power of this band on display that is one the best recorded live shows they ever made. Along with THE END, the other song considered a masterpiece by the Doors is called WHEN THE MUSIC'S OVER. It is part of a documentary film titled The Doors are Open. The 5 minute video of LOVE ME TWO TIMES is great, and MOONLIGHT DRIVE is a favorite. Watch and enjoy.

The lyrics in the middle are just gibberish, no one understands them!🤣 He was basically scat singing, something jazz and blues singers would do, like the Cab Calloway song in Blues Brothers but* not as deliberate or specific. Fond memory, in the mid-late '90's I went to a lot of jam nights and at our favourite place, the bartender's favourite band was The Doors. One night on his birthday it was decided to play a Doors song for him as a sign of appreciation and I said I could sing Roadhouse so that's what we did. Only problem is, thanks to said bartender and the minimum free drink policy for all musicians, I was a little foggy by the time this was arranged, lol. I was fine until that middle section with all the gibberish and forgot the lines about waking up and getting a beer.🤣🤣🤣 We, and by that I mean I, managed to get it together and finish the song but I was lost for a bit in the middle, lol. The bartender loved it, regardless.
Hahaha, im listening to y'all talk about Roadhouse and how far it is from y'all. Y'all made it sound like it was an hr or an hr and a half. Im from Texas (the Houston area), 35 minutes is down the street for us. From my house, Galveston is a 30 minute drive. Love y'alls reactions. Keep it up!

Yeah, I agree. Many counties across the country usually have a bar or tavern in or around or outside of town called a roadhouse. It’s a drinking song. Great song. My favorite Doors would be their cover of Gloria.

He's apart of the 27 club. Jimmy, Janis, Jim,Kurt, Robert Johnson. They good die young so they say. The Doors are iconic with iconic songs. So many great songs but My Wild Love, 5 to 1, Riders On The Storm, The End, Roadhouse Blues will always be my favorites by them. Kinda uncommon to not have a bass player either but instead have organ which sometimes acted like a bass guitar.
Many people don't readily notice that Jim isn't actually pointing at the camera in the pic, as both of you thought too. Take a closer look. He's giving a reverse middle finger, although through the years there's been a few different slang terms for it; none are coming to me at the moment.

The part where you couldn't make out the words isn't words. It's random, rhythmic syllables. It's called "scat singing." It's mostly a jazz thing. Ella Fitzgerald was known for her scat singing.

I know this is just one man's opinion, but if anyone is going to react to a Doors song it needs to be Light My Fire. Yes, it's probably their most popular song but when that song first came out in '67 it broke so many rules, so absolutely unique.....
Texas Roadhouse rolls are the best. Also Macaroni Grill has awesome bread aswell....they pour some olive oil on a little plate with fresh ground pepper.
Good news is that Tx. Roadhouse has excellent Chicken dinners there as well. I rotate between the portobello mushroom chicken, country fried chicken or the Smothered chicken. The steak was nothing special so I haven't had steak there in a very long time.
Funny, Alexis loves bread……neither of my sisters or my mom will eat bread/ rolls at a restaurant. Actually they won’t/ don’t eat it anywhere. Now I’m hungry, thanks Alexis.
I've literally gone to Texas Roadhouse to pick up just an order of rolls on the way home. At the time it was pretty cheap I thought. Like just over a dollar for like 12 rolls. Who knows now though lol. I'm pretty sure they have chicken too but I just get a country fried steak when I go there.
All you have to do is go to Texas roadhouse and pick up some rolls and leave and then go to another restaurant and get what you want and either rolls with it. Lol.
Alexis, walk in Texas Roadhouse and yell out ..... "I'm pregnant, and i'm craving your Texas rolls!" Tell management you'll order a bunch of appetizers and leave a fat tip if they keep the rolls coming to you in this time of need. 🙂
