This is absolute PEAK Adam the Woo!! I completely understand you have to make other types of videos, like Disney and baseball etc, but damn, this is your absolute best content!! Just wandering through the country side taking in all the sights. I watch these when I wake up in the morning drinking my hot caffeinated beverage and it gets me energized for the day. Thank you Adam!!
Adam, really enjoyed your video! Thank you for taking me along with you on your travels to places I'll never get to chance to see for myself because, I'm handicapped and nobody to take me! I love old buildings and I wonder if the walls could talk what stories they'd tell. Just like our detiorating dairy barn. Beautiful scenery around the natural bridge and that's cool George Washington's are there! Again, thank you for taking me along with you on your travels. YOU ROCK!!!!!
My mom's water broke walking the stairs at natural bridge. The family that adopted me visited natural bridge waiting for me to be born. Didn't find that out till I visited NB 25 years later. Sent my sister a pic and she's was like oh yea we visited waiting for you lol. Special place for me. I hope you went down the trail. There's a cave, native settlement, a lot more. Great video, great area.
I LOVE your non Disney videos! I mean I love when you go to the Disney parks, but these remind me of places I've been, and I'm also making notes of places I want to see. Thanks Adam! :) Went to the Natural Bridge once, very cool
Natural Bridge is so cool. It's only a few hours from where I'm living in NC right now, so I may try to make it there. Love when you do these kinds of vlogs.
I was just in Natural Bridge 2 years ago. That was the first time that I had actually visited the bridge and I was in awe with how massive that thing was. It was so cool.
Did anyone else see what looked sort of like George Washington’s profile in the rock at 20:40? His eye was open. It was very fast so you have to look towards the left of the screen. As always, fascinating stuff. Adam never fails to entertain.
My ancestors had a farm on Buffalo Creek...not far from the Natural Bridge. It seems that "throwing a rock over the Natural Bridge" was a popular tall tale for folks to tell back in the day. Part of my family's lore is that one family member also threw a rock over the bridge. I learned about it before I had heard the story of Washington supposedly doing it.
Went there when I was a kid. An impressive natural structure. There used to be a cafeteria upstairs in the main building. Thanks for bringing back those memories!
I just love these videos takes me back to my childhood driving with my grandparents and seeing all these wonderful roadside attractions! Great content this morning and blown away Gulf Gas Station refurbishment!
LOVE the old stores especially the video store, omg I miss those 😢 my kids will never know that feeling of picking out a movie and hoping it’s in stock
Love all your "bad" jokes(funny, no matter how many times you repeat them!) And all your little antics, that why people like your video's! Thanks for sharing!
There's a small abandoned airport in Yanceyville that has an underground airplane hangar from the Cold War in the 40's and a couple of other old remains from the past.
Hopefully a tour of town and a Durham Bulls game are on your agenda while in those parts of NC. Lots of neat historical places, filming locations, and of course the Rays AAA team.
Just watched this video, and loved the Natural Bridge part. My paternal grandparents were both from Virginia and I have old photos of them at NB. Also have my grandmother's fairy stone souvenir she bought there. I'm 68 years old now - that stone is still wrapped in it's original tissue and box! Thanks!!!
It’s a good things you are filming these old buildings. Now its current state is saved forever. 50 years later people will be able to see how things were and compare. I also like when you are able to talk to the locals and preserve their knowledge about the area especially from their youth.
Backroads Americana, just Love this !! I stayed in Front Royal, Virginia back in the Summer of 1977. I was 14 years old then. Virginia is one of the Most Beautiful places I have ever visited. I said ONE, because we have so many Beautiful States in this country. Well Done, Adam !! :)
Went here back in 1984. We took a boat ride down the river it went under the natural bridge. George Washington's initials are there. It was beautiful there. Still looks it. I would love to go back again. There was a country store with a giant porch swing. Anyway, thanks for sharing this. It was a great walk thru of memories for me. God Bless ❤️✌️🤘😼💯
Jacob the carpetbagger and Jenny was just there. Very unique place for sure. Hearing you in these videos sure helps me after a day like today. It calms my mind
The reason that old video store didn't have any VHS in it was the last few years it was open it was only a satellite place. When I was a kid my mother worked there I watched a lot of classic movies at that place. I have some great memories from my childhood in that store. It was great seeing it on this video.
The museum was owned and operated by The Dorfman company located in Baltimore, MD. The figures were sold off to museums around the country in 2014 when Natural Bridge was sold to the Commonwealth of Virginia. The main portion of the hotel has undergone a major renovation and is part of the Wyndham chain. Great place to visit and there is a nice cavern right across from the bridge.
we have driven by that pink Cadillac place, it was closed when we went by, but we did visit the Natural Bridge, it was amazing to see, hubby Donny loves Cheerwine soda too and I like those Gardetto's chips too / lol the gummy shark bit the dust n your tummy
Love these videos. That natural bridge is amazing. Those little towns you stopped at are also amazingly beautiful. Thank you again for taking us on your journey.
Hey Adam, me my wife and son were there in VA in December 2022! We took the same route heading back home to Florida and seen the Watlingtons building and cool little town. Safe travels Adam
I've been watching you over the years now and I always love your content. I didn't know that. Francis Farmer had such a turbulent life. I know my grandma used to talk about old movie stars sometimes and she mentioned her here and there, thanks for shedding some light on her life was very interesting.
In 1980, my 6th Grade class went to the Natural Bridge on a field trip. I was 10 years old. I read X-MEN #138 on the bus (the death of Phoenix). I remember being amazed at just how high the bridge was from the ground below, but I also recall being amazed by it. I don't remember there being any roadside oddities on the way back then, but it's cool seeing them in the video! ...and I guarantee you that George Washington didn't carve his initials with a "railroad spike." lol. The first railroad in America actually came into being in 1815, long after Washingon's death in 1799.
Sometimes the comments you make are so great and hilarious, like the one about Washington's wax figure walking down to look at the inscription at the bridge, LOL. You are my favorite RU-vidr by far! Your stuff always puts me in a good mood.
ATW these are your best videos! Yanceyville, NC looks like a wonderful little town to retire in. Adam, you are helping me see smalltown America and I and many others Thank You for that! I am looking for a magical little town buy a retirement home in. Thanks again for your help.
Another great one, Adam. Love these kind of videos. I hope that one day when you are looking in these old stores and houses that you don't walk up on someone. Also, always watch where you walk. Look really good for snakes, spiders, and rusty nails. I worry about you out there. Have fun, be safe and Happy Trails.
As a kid I loved the roadside attractions and motels where you parked in front of your room door. Hitting the pool after a long day of traveling was awesome. They’re all run down now. A lot like me. 😅
Natural Bridge in Kentucky is absolutely beautiful in the bluegrass state. I live in Lexington Kentucky. Love your videos Adam. Virginia is also beautiful,😊
This is so awesome! Finally had time to watch this one. Sandee and I will be visiting these sites in early May on the way home after visiting our daughter in North Carolina. Thank you for showing us stuff to look forward to on our trip. We will of course be making a video inspired by Adam the Woo 😅 Steve and Sandee
You were in my neck of the woods! I’m not far from Yancyville. I think I know which circle K that was too. Like seeing you in my area of Virginia. You find things I don’t see when I’m driving around. Great video. 👍👍
