#Roanoke #River #Striped #Bass #Fishing in #NorthCarolina had to be one of the best days rocking fishing ever. The weather was perfect, barely any boats, and we could not keep fish out of the boat. In all honesty we probably caught 40 fish that day, half were catfish and half were striped bass (rock fish). The King says we can only keep 1 per day and we only have a 6 day fishing season to catch them. That’s just insane. There is no shortage of fish in the rivers. It’s about control not conservation to them.
My two friends Greg and Chris took me out there and showed me the ropes. We went right to a spot there used to be a ferry crossing which is now nearly dissolved over hundreds of years. The stripers came in schools so quite often when one rod went down, another was about to or was already also going down. We had so much action in the first 30m we were there, we limited out, and I had to shed layers to keep cool. You have to be careful with heat exhaustion here in NC especially for a Oregon-native such as myself.
