Climbing an active volcano was no joke, especially because it last erupted about 3 months ago. We decided to ride horses up one way because none of us have ever done it before and it saved us about an hour on the hike up. It actually rained the majority of the hike up so we were soaked. Our horses were trying to race each other which made it a fun but bumpy ride. The highlight was roasting the marshmallows in the volcano and feeling the heat that it still had. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is ever in Guatemala.
