Three of my favorite heros!

I got chills watching Mark receive the quilt. It was so wonderful. My name Is Suzanne also. I had been to the Houston Quilt show and was at the Quilts of Valor booth. My Birth mother was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army (WAC). She was stationed in Germany and was a nurse I think. My grandmother said she came home a very different person. She was born in Scotland. She suffered depression and started drinking. Back then there was no help for returning soldiers. She eventually was hit by a car we were told possibly due to drinking. Her marriage broke up (my dad and she met in Germany, he was an ambulance driver) Our family was torn apart when we were very young due to her problems. We were all split up. I wish there was help for those returning soldiers then. So happy Mark has come in contact with the quilting world. Glad he has you guys who have befriended him. Stay in contact with him. I hope he can put a quilt in the Houston show one year. That would be a great achievement for him. Thank you for honoring him.

I am so happy to have had the opportunity to see these veterans receive their quilts awarded to them. I nominated my older brother while I created a quilt for our father and presented to him in a private ceremony during the pandemic restrictions. Being a veteran and a quilter myself this organization is very special to me. I am sew grateful to all those involved for their dedication to our precious vets. Particularly those who’s welcome home was vitriolic. We ❤️ our Vets! We want them to know we cherish their sacrifices.

This video is a year old and I am just watching it. I wish someone would make all the quilt of valor videos in one channel. What a beautiful piece of content. I love that Mark received a quilt. I cried watching all the service men and women receiving their quilts. I am moved with such gratitude for everyone who has had the courage to enlist and serve. Each one needs to receive a quilt and the honor and appreciation that comes from being gifted a quilt. Thank you for showing me what a quilt of valor is. Hugs ~Martha

Oh my…my husband and brother were Vietnam veterans. When they returned, they were not shown the respect they deserved. That being said, I wish I had made them Quilt of valor quilts before they passed. The smiles on the faces of those veterans says it all. And the tears that ran down my face as I watched..my heart is full. Thank you for recording this.

Rob, All I can say is this never gets old. I participate in Quilts of Valor locally. I'm always moved to tears. We work all year to make a veteran's day that they so deserve. I love this project. Thanks to you and Stitching Heaven. I've watched the Quilting Marine many times. It was so nice to see the emotion on his face. I'm going to start watching Combat Quilter as well. Thanks for your service. This is my way of honoring my Dad, WWII veteran and my husband Vietnam veteran.

I knew of The Quilting Marine, but not The Combat Quilter. If he has a RU-vid channel, I will have to find it and follow it. I so enjoyed your tribute to our veterans and presenting them with a Quilt of Valor! Thank you for that! Being the wife of a veteran, and living in a military community, I have a special place in my heart for our military, both retired and active duty! Those quilts in the background, I wonder if there are patterns for any of those! They are stunning!
