Rob Benedict's live rendition of "Fare Thee Well" (from Supernatural Season 11 Episode 20 "Don't Call Me Shurley") at JIBCon7, Rome, Sunday 22 May 2016
I was just stunned silent when I heard him sing during that episode. I couldn't believe it was actually him. He added more to the show during that one scene than most characters have added over the last 12 years.
Glad to hear it hit you like it hit me! By the end of the song, my throat was choked up, and tears were rolling down my cheeks. It is still an amazing song, even after playing it back so many times over the years… I never did find any info about the writer, or when it was first done. Just *BOOM!* - a Supernatural bomb, and my life was so much richer!
The one with Jensen is the original version, this one have some cuts on the lyrics to fit the theme of the episode. Both are awesome. Much like the Skiny Love, I prefer Bon Iver's original version.
Luiz, it's a folk song of unknown origin - though more verses of the song do exist, *no one's version is the original version* (though it's believed to have been written by a black woman).
I like how people are talking, and you hear noises ..but the split second before he opens his mouth to sing, and until the song is finished...there is just dead silence. Everyone (Except the one person who coughed) is like...in awe..and that's great. I usually HATE live music..but this, is something else. Thank you Rob. :) ...i , mean. uh "G..Chuck"
I'm crying the reason I'm crying is because I was having a panic attack and this calmed me down so much and I just have a platonic crush on this beautiful man
I cry everytime i listen to this, its just too beautiful. I cant believe how amazing and unique the whole spn cast is. Ive never been in a better fandom
Chuck as a character is so perfect. From the first episode he showed up in as a prophet all the way until the season 11 finale, he was fucking perfect.
This is now the definitive version for me, I would hear it every day on the radio getting on the bus & going to school, I tried listening to the original recently & it just seems dated after hearing Rob's voice & guitar playing
What a plot twist 😂 the fandom speculated about him being God on Supernatural for ages before it was revealed and we never once suspected he was actually God irl.
Elenco pra lá de talento puro... Amo SPN. Muitas felicidades, saúde e suce$$o pra essa galera que proporciona ao seus fãs tanta alegria. Obrigada por nos deixar fazer parte dessa família maravilhosa. #hunterforever
Abra a mente...
Watching this in automatically thinking about those concerts where people l light their lighters hold them up and sway it back and forth that's be funny if someone does that this is perfect song for that even if they not really safe lol
I absolutely disagree, it was always about Jack! The last 2 episodes made the most sense, Dean wanted to die and Sam living a full life was what what Dean has always talked about. Once Jack became God, he wanted to make sure Dean was happy. Jack knew Dean would die and he always looked up too Dean, even though Dean treated Jack like Sam. So Jack made Dean’s transition what he always wanted.
