I still love Chuck...even after s14 finale.. Y'know why..because if sam never said 'When will it ever end' then Chuck would have never started the end.. Don't @ me
Look at metatron's expressions here. my theory is that god is actually good but hes pretending to be evil for some purpose that may be revealed in the final season
@Keenan Hunt It has nothing to do with that. This is God. God was never on your side. That's the message: if someone has the power to help and doesn't, they're a potential enemy.
@Keenan Hunt The more power someone has the more they have the potential to do evil, like Chuck is doing. That's a valid lesson no matter who the president is. You would seem not to think the current president is a villain. You're entitled to your opinion. But why should it be a problem if other people decide they want to write stories that criticise his actions? This was always the endgame for Supernatural and would have been if Obama was still president. Since very early on, Dean's been railing against God and his inactivity, and none of Chuck's statements in Seasons 4, 5 and 11 have justified his total abandonment of his creation. He did that because he wanted to. He was never on their side; always on his own. So he makes sense as a final villain in any presidency.
Me too mate, I love how they left it to us to just imagine what the father of the world-no! all of humanity could have written to crush metatrons heart that much...
@@dakid40777 I think we all realize how flawed our parents are as we get older and people react differently to that knowledge. And sometimes, we love them despite the flaws - Megatron. Sometimes we just need to love them because we think we need them to love us - Michael and Lucifer. Sometimes we just stop caring about their love all together and try to move on - Gabriel. Sometimes our opinions are constantly in flux and we don't know really what we feel about our parents - Castiel. And some tell their parents to go fuck themselves for their bullshit - Sam and Dean. Even if I would have preferred this be the last time God was in the series and didnt become a "well, we need a new bad guy" like poor Cas became...I do appreciate how complex the relationships of God and all his children truly are.
Jack said Chuck's mistake was writing himself into the story. That's why he can seem so caring now but so evil later. He wanted to be good and caring but once involved he started taking sides, he got personally frustrated and disappointed and tired. In the end he just wanted the story to end.
@@Jeffy-331 well said,i was okay with episode 20,but that episode 19 was one of the most stupid episodes ever...maybe the most....any diehard fan could have done a better job writing that shit
@@joseph4301 Have to agree. The way god went down super easily like that.. the way he did, the fashion in which he did.. was just so anti climactic. The big bad god.. just falls like that? Supposedly having consumed Amara and her powers inside of him? I fucking love this show.. but my god i was so depressed by how it ended. Like we don't get to see how Jack reworked heaven, did he make more angels, archangels? ANYTHING? THEY LITERALLY DIDN'T HAVE HIM DO ANYTHING! Then they make 1 extra episode to pathetically kill off Dean and show them being in heaven? The Jack we know wouldn't have ever let Dean die like that.. I just don't understand the failure of the finale.
@@keving9917 just two episodes earlier, they showed chuck as an omniscient all knowing being,so how did he not see the plan this time?questions like these really bother me
+JeremysRants I know right and it came out of fucking nowhere I've been a bit disappointed in this season but wow this episode made up for so much. Amazing!
Chuck: "You know I lied before... This honesty thing is really freeing" those lines and what they hint at make a lot more sense now, in a sinister/upsetting way.
CHUCK:"We need to talk" Fandom:"YEAH NO FUCKING SHIT SHERLOCK YOU HAVE SOME BLOODY EXPLAINING TO DO!!!!YOU FUCKING OWE THE BOYS A SHIT LOAD OF EXPLAINING!!!"
I feel its because most demons just want to be ...well human and some of the greatest joys in life includes music and booze well for some...I love the concept...Think of Crowley he's the bloody king of hell but hes tamed ,..He fucks things up when need be,but most of the time hes spent drinking scotch and just being well "Human"
Not a lot fans know this but this scene, this is Robbie Thompson's (one of the best writers on the show) farewell to the show and fans after five years. He wrote Slash Fiction, Time after Time, The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo, Bitten, LARP and The Real Girl, Goodbye Stranger, Pac-Man Fever, Slumber Party, First Born, Meta Fiction, Fan Fiction, There's No Place Like Home, Book of the Damned, Angel Heart, Baby, Into the Mystic, Safe House, and lastly...Don't Call Me Shurley. He brought a lot of importance to the show like more female and lgbt characters (there's so much more I could write about this great man). He created Charlie Bradbury and the badass deaf hunter and Woman of Letters Eileen Leahy. Robbie Thompson left Supernatural on the one year anniversary of Charlie's death; it's so sad to see a great man go. So we thank you Robbie Thompson for all you've done...Fare Thee Well
this was like watching different pieces of a mosaic painting come together to form a perfect whole: the amulet, burning bright like a star in Deans hand, giving light and hope to both Winchesters; the look of quiet sadness and renewed admiration in Metatrons eyes as he looked upon his father; Chuck/God singing with such heartfelt poignancy as he finally decides to take action...everything just came together...and it was BEAUTIFUL
LYRICS If I had wings Like Noah’s dove I’d fly up the river To the one I love Fare thee well, oh honey, fare thee well I knew a man Was long and tall He moved his body Like a cannon ball Oh fare thee well, oh honey, fare thee well Remember one night In drizzling rain Hand ‘round my heart I felt an aching pain Fare thee well, oh honey, fare thee well One of these days It won’t be long You’ll call my name And I’ll be gone Fare thee well, oh honey, fare thee well Fare thee well
**spn ending spoilers** anyone think dean only died on a hunt that should’ve been so easy for them was because chuck had been protecting them the whole way, trying to ensure he got the ending he wanted and when he was killed, well there was nothing looking out for them.
Chloe , my 26 year old son was killed in a terrible accident a couple months ago. We loved this song he wanted at his funeral, we played it, it was brutal so painful, I listen to it and have cried everyday since.
+Sin Overlord hell no!, God? the biggest known power of all time? There is nothing in bilbe that are higher in rank!!!!!!!! Thats mean Its over guys. You can complain, u can cry but there is not much more they can do... having God on their side? Its like over for the problems, no more monster's that feed on the soul's if they win. Like Metatron said its God creation and now after all this theatre he cant just disapear and let things go like usual. He went in and cant be a part of the team like Castiel... I hope u can see that... I wish there is 12 season of Supernatural - the best TV Series of all time but... I just can't see it happen.. like ever.....
+Cero The only way I can think of it's going on is, that God must sacrifice himself to defeat his sister. As both are the opposite of one another, they cannot exist without each other. And that may be the reason he says "fare well" and why Metatron seems so touched.
+Pratishtha Chaurasia Watching this for the first time I was about to cry when chuck sing "... I will be gone" his face and blur around him made this scene. Very fking positive episode. Hope its gonna end with style.
+Pratishtha Chaurasia yes it was the moment I started to cry because I knew Sam had kept it and I was waiting for this moment since the day Dean had threw it away :')
There are so many series out there, I'm watching so many myself but nothing can be compared to Supernatural.Supernatural will always be my favourite one, the one that makes me laugh, cry, smile, happy, angry and I'm never getting tired of it.I really dont know how I'm going to feel when supernatural ends once and for all :(( (sorry for my english)
zac jaenecke He dosen't need a vessel though. Chuck was just the form he took on earth. Chuck isn't an existing person, just something God came up with.
Trisha Urvan then I learned of Louden Swain and am now a fan of his singing career as well. He sang this song so perfectly, putting so much emotion into it.
Just finished The SN series finale and had to come pull this scene and song up. ❤️ Thank you “Dean, Sam, Cass, and Jack” 🙏 Thank you and Fare thee well
+No one It was never confirmed, I suspected it was Chuck. I meant reveal for the boys, cause they had no idea where God was! THE WHOLE THING WAS AWESOME!!!!
That was one of the best touching musical performances I have ever seen! Rob Benedict, you are phenomenal. This episode as well-wow. Possibly one of the best episodes of the show yet!!!!! It made me cry!!
If this is foreshadowing the end of the season, WOW! No better way to go out. What a voice! BTW, did anyone bust a gut when Chuck revealed himself as God and the holy light shined in the beginning of the episode, with classical music just happened to start playing as the light shined?
+zeroherrera Not just any classical music, the fucking Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah. As a music nerd and supernatural fan I just about died when that happened.
+zeroherrera predicted it back when he was shown as the writer of the show. why else would he have a high angel protecting him because NONE of the others did.
Actually, since no prophets were active while any archangels were alive/or free to act, there is no reason to believe that prophets didn't have them as protectors. The prophets that came after almost obtained angelic protection, but Heaven was in no way capable of carrying it out to the same degree as before the Apocalypse. As he stated, Chuck hid in plain sight and positioned himself in such a way that he could see what was transpiring, with NO ONE being the wiser. The only method of prediction we had available were the hints dropped that connected him to an all seeing figure and the few biblical references, as well as the end of season 5 with his sudden change and disappearance.
+zeroherrera the last part you wrote i agree with 100%. I knew he was god at the end of Swan Song when he faded away in a white mist...it also simpolizies the creator of supernatural Erik Kripke leaving the show and not writing anymore for it.
Wow Rob Benedict singing and acting, awesome best version of this song i have heard, Curtis Armstrong's acting in this scene when Chuck sings, powerful no words his face says everything you need, supernatural is my favorite show right from the start, so many great scenes and episodes but this has to be close to number one, keep em coming .
was catching up on Supernatural, binge-watching. This song awoke me nicely after 5 years of depression. Woke up smiling, how lovely. Thank you Chuck x x x
The painful think about this song this episode is after i watched it, i remembered my cousin that passed away he sounded like him the voice i miss him so much. farewell cousin. RIP.
im crying the fact that each episode makes it closer and closer for this show story to end and i cant imagine not being able to watch this amazing show :( i just wanted to keep running forever
+muna abdu They said that they would continue as long as the fans continue to want it. So; I'm fairly sure we'll be good. As well as what themariusnos stated: ideas.
i have such mixed emotions about chuck, because s15 made me hate him and he caused my boys a lot of pain, however seeing rob benedict’s face has the automatic effect of making me smile and flooding my body with dopamine.
What an emotional-roller-coaster of an episode this was!. Sadness, Fear, and Joy all rushing in with each scene. See, Michael Bay this is how you produce a cinematic gem.
kc2788x after this I came across some videos from cons of Rob singing and realized how talented he is. I know I'm a year late to your comment but check out Louden Swain.
Such a great show acting is superb specially Jensen Ackles i think he is one of the best actors on Tv the way he portrays dean specially showing emotion its as real as it gets i have never seen a person cry like that and looks so real
@@randytw6319 Why couldn't Lucifer and Michael both team up with Sam and Dean? It would have fit the ending so much better. At the very least it would make more sense power scaling wise. Chuck clearly wasn't omniscient at least not for every aspect of things. Also lucifer killing death doesn't add up. Its just plot holes and a rushed ending.
I can't believed they ruined Chuck. I was hoping everything he put them through was for an "ultimate test" type of thing where they restore balance not just the Chuck is an A-Hole ending.
Alpha and Omega, chuck is both creator and destroyer. We see him here in his good phase and season 15 is his bad phase. The God the angels were terrified of, "You know how he is with that whole wrath thing."
Same, I genuinely thought that he'd grown tired of his original archangels for their failures in protecting man, so he'd put these boys through hell and worse to show them what they were fighting for before he turned them into archangels to protect the world forever more.
I have a theory and I'm not sure if others are on board with this. The look on Metatron's face @2:50 after he reads what Chuck wrote along with the song he is singing may indicate that he plans on sacrificing himself to save his greatest creation. Metatron looks sad more than anything. I don't think he was writing his autobiography for himself. He is writing it because he wants to be remembered in an honest way after he is truly gone. He looks like he is truly feeling the lyrics when he says 'I'll be gone' @2:54. Chuck did say that music was one of the best things humanity created. He has a passion for it and the meaning behind the words is just killing me at this point. Also looking ahead, "Alpha and Omega" is the finale title. The title could be interpreted multiple ways though. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK!?
yes I thought the same thing, because metatron won't feel bad for the boys he hates them he even killed dean. I really respect metatron after this episode and I used to hate him. also how do you know the last episode is called "Alpha and Omega"?
+Travis V I don't know, I kind of came away with the feeling that he is afraid of his sister, and fears they would destroy each other in the end. That doesn't mean it is set in stone that they will though, like when he tossed his last script, nothing is concrete. Remember the turns this show has taken, they aren't going to give the season ending away so easily, something is going to happen, most likely Dean saving the day, again.
If I had wings like Noah's dove I'd fly up the river to the one I love Fare thee well, my honey, fare thee well If I met your man, who was long and tall I'd hit his body like a cannon ball Fare thee well, my honey, fare thee well I remember one night, a drizzling rain Round my heart I felt an achin' pain Fare thee well, oh honey, fare thee well One of these mornings, it won't be long You call my name and I'll be gone Fare thee well, my honey, fare thee well
