Mud were great fun ; they always manage to cheer me up even today when I check out their TOTPs performances . In fact my 2 1/2 years old niece loves 'Tiger Feet' and dances along to it with plenty of smiles and laughs in abundance !
Hey Rob, fantastic recordings that will live forever. Dynamite, Cat, Rocket and the mighty 'Tiger' are some of the most perfect pop, ever laid down in a studio. Strange how when I'm on the sauce, that Mud always end up on youtube full blast. The perfect accompaniment to a case of 'Neck Oil'! Thanks for the riffs and the joy you've all bought to peoples lives. It really is rather special.

In their first song writing session together, Rob Davis and Cathy Dennis wrote "Can't Get You Out of My Head" for Kylie Minogue. Released in 2001, it was the first song to have 3,000 radio plays in a single week in the UK, reached #1 in all but one European country and sold over four million copies. Davis and Dennis received an Ivor Novello Award for composing the most performed song of the year. The song was originally intended for Sophie Ellis-Bextor, but she turned it down.
Great to the hear the story..very much the same as mine.saw them a few times in Manchester.. had the honour of supporting them at the Davenport theatre..thanks a lot lads
Very interesting; I grew up watching Mud (live in US now). Interesting to hear about how these guys were already doing well on their own, getting gigs and writing their own material, then met a producer and were "packaged" so to speak. Wonder how many bands were like that back then?
+Jojoseahorse Lots of starting bands weren't allowed to record their own music and session musicians were hired. The vocals would be added later. The Sweet's first 4 or 5 singles (Poppa Joe, Little Willie, Funny Funny, etc.) weren't recorded by Steve Priest, Mick Tucker and Andy Scott; just Brian Connolly's vocals were added to pre-recorded sessions by musicians chosen by the producer and/or songwriters. Slade idem: their first couple of singles (under the Ambrose Slade moniker) were not recorded by the band themselves...
In a similar vein , check out Sid By Side where Robs good neighbour has an acting part , alongside Rubettes, Fox, Hello, Stephanie De Sykes, & Des Decker,
Rob thanks for everything specily when you are playing in the band MUD I am now already 65 and I still love the songs. I still want to move when I hear the music i cant sit still. You guys are great. I never forget that time in my life never.
