I know that this interview is old but more should be told about Rob. He's a very underrated guitarist. Extremely talented and has all the correct heroes. My hats off to him and the legendary "Mud".
Absolute legend for me. People may say, Oh he was in Mud, but what a musician and producer. Also wrote some great songs. Mud songs made me so happy in the 70's Thank you.
A gentleman in a pop band of the 90's mentioned this gentleman .....(and Cathy Dennis ???)....... but described Rob Davies and did confess that he was ummmm "rich" !!! . He implied that he was a "behind the scenes" song writer for major hits !!! . Nice chap !!!
I think Mud never got enough credit for the music they made after the Chinnichap years, the ‘Use your imagination’ and ‘It’s better than working’ albums’, ‘Shake it down’, and beyond, which can be explained that they weren’t exactly punk. Luckily, I can enjoy them again now they’ve been documented with an excellent Cherry Red box. I remember having UYI on cassette at 12 and later on I also had IBTW, the SID, ‘Nite on the tiles’ and ‘Lean on me’ singles on vinyl, that last one a very good version of the Bill Withers original, btw🙂
Hear, hear well said sir. When I first hear L-L-Lucy though it was a #1 record. Didn't happen of course but still love all their songs. Happy memories.
he was not my favorite from mud les gray and the gitarist with the darker hair. but he seems verry nice. good live. i like him much more now. his looks. he is verry talentend music for kylie Minogue so good. verry nice intervieuw.
