I'd just like to say that Grand Theft Auto hasn't made anywhere near even the films alone of Star Wars, but I still agree with the point that video game creators deserve more credit.
While not all sales figures are available, from what we know they are pretty close. GTA V alone has made over $6 billion dollars. That, combined with GTA IV's figures which made over half a billion in just its first week of sales back in 2008, let alone the sales from the rest of the franchise, is close to our perhaps a little more than the total of all the Star Wars film worldwide proceeds put together which are around $10 billion. So, the are pretty close.
The humor doesn't even compare to It's Always Sunny and it's actually misleading about the industry for the sake of wokeness. Also, not a good sign that they turned off their comments on the main video as it indicates a lack of faith in their own material. I love Rob, but it's really surprising to hear him talk about this show as if it's about understanding gamers when it clearly isn't. You can't be like "haha social commentary is hypocritical" while also forcing in your own very similar social commentary. It's very telling that what got him interested was being told how much money GTA made. Occasionally interesting jokes mixed with mostly cringe. 2/5 Max.
@@mero7731 You could, but you'd be wrong. How's Birds Of Prey And The Unnecessarily Long Title doing? They're out here setting records in terms of not being taken seriously.
