Some people don't get that this isn't produced for perfect sound or to thrill an audience or label, this is about being away from all that, about actually enjoying what one can do. It's what I loved about intimate practices and small gigs, nothing else mattered. Kudos to Daryl for making all of these sessions happen.
A seriously underrated song writer IMHO. His lyrics were heads and shoulders above the vast majority of bands during Matchbox 20's time. Great composer. And beautiful singer.
Rob Thomas's voice is epic. He could sing the alphabet song and make it sound amazing. I miss Rob Thomas. It's been a while since he released an album. Rob and Daryl talent is so rare. Well done!!
This was my son's favorite song. He was a huge fan of Rob Thomas as well as I. I grew up listening to Daryl Hall in Hall and Oates and loved the music they put out. I lost my son 6 years ago at the young age of 24............I wish he could have seen this. Thank you! Amazing!

My God at Rob Thomas vocals....so pure and I am speechless.......touched me to find out this song was about his mom that was going through cancer when he was young...makes it make more sense and so touching....
Rob Thomas does something for me. Watch his mouth though, his mouth does weird things , the way his mouth forms when he sings some words, it is unlike most people. If you watch the She's Gone video from this same series. Watch him sing the word gone. Whatever he does works for him.
Lordy! These two are so good together! Both have an amazing vocal range! Daryl has always been a favorite of mine, but I’ve just added Rob to the list. What a performer, he gives so much to every song he sings! I could listen to these two all day and still want more.

Love this song. Always have. Rob Thomas is one of the best and Daryl Hall goes back to my teens. Both excellent talents. This song can apply to whatever you want it to. It though was written by Rob Thomas about his mother having cancer. I get it. I have been there with the cancer. This song helps me get through the anxieties sometimes of being a 2 time cancer survivor. Just a wonderful song period.

Daryl Hall has always been an amazing artist. Extremely talented multi instrumentalist. phenomenal singer and songwriter. He got overlooked I think because of his duo status with John Oates. I've always loved Hall and Oates I grew up listening to them. Daryls House is one of if not THE best music show on television bar none. the talent is amazing

It's always interesting hearing the same artist sing the same song with so many years between. The emphasis is so different, because I suspect the song is so different for them. It creates an entirely different work.
im 21 now, and my acquaintances always said that i listened to songs that are too old, but i dont care, Rob Thomas really have talent and i idolized him so much, a great artist indeed, kids this day should listen to this too haha
I have heard this song a million times since it first came out in 90's but it wasn't until seeing this performance that I realized how great the lyrics actually are.
I miss good live music. Its sad when I have to explain to my daughters that music was not derived from a computer and that people actually played musical instruments to create songs.

Sometimes I hate that I am past 50 but I am thankful that I know ALL the rock legends and the people who really "got" rock and great music not these idiots who today think they can talk and rap, using every profanity in the English language and think they are "artists". These are the real artists. Younger people - listen and learn. To those of you who like rap, that is your option and PLEASE don't write me defending it I'm just giving MY opinion.
