For twenty years, he has been the frontman and primary composer for alternative rock band Matchbox Twenty, leading the quintet to multiplatinum success over the course of four albums and hits that include “Push,” “3AM,” “Bent,” “If You’re Gone,” and “Unwell.”

Thomas’ first solo albums, 2005’s platinum-certified #1 album ‘Something To Be’ and 2009’s ‘cradlesong’ generated the hit singles “Lonely No More,” “This is How A Heart Breaks,” “Her Diamonds” and “Someday. ’Something to Be’ became the first album by a male artist from a rock/pop group to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 since the chart had debuted. With ‘cradlesong’, he made history once again as the only male artist with multiple #1 hits at Adult Top 40, with most #1s by a solo male artist in the chart’s history. Thomas released his 3rd solo album ‘The Great Unknown' in 2015.

Rob Thomas.. there could be a group of 30 random singers all singing the same thing at the same volume and I could pick out Rob's voice no problem. Matchbox 20 wrote some of the best songs ever written.

Oh. My. GOD!! This is one of Crowded Houses greatest songs. I have heard a couple of their versions, and later Neil Finn solo versions which I thought were next level. Then in a pair of trakky dacks and hooded sweatshirt, sitting on a daybed at home Mr Thomas has just knocked it out the ball park and taken it up again to a level I did not think was possible. Viva life! Viva Music! Viva the amazing artists who have the ability to do this. That is what Rob Thomas is...an artist. Thank you thank you thank you.

Two years ago today my brother passed away at the height of the pandemic from covid 19. I never got to say goodbye. This song came up on my RU-vid feed, the morning I received the news and I couldn't stop listening to it. I never heard the original song prior to this cover, but it's been a place of solace for me these past few years. Thank you for your music, Rob - my brother and I were always fans.

Back in the 90's I used to listen to all your music. After 9/11 and joining the Marines... I lost touch with a lot of things including myself. I had all those CDs stored in a box and decades later I was able to rediscover myself through your music. Thank you! 🙏🐾👣🤙

Rob Thomas is one of the most inspiring musicians I have ever heard. From Matchbox 20 to solo career I've followed him through it all. His love for his wife is beautiful and I think it is awesome that they have found each other. I have found my person but due to Covid restrictions and finances we haven't been able to cross borders since last November. We spent the last week we were together listening to Yourself Or Someone Like you every time we were in the car because that was the only cd we had with us. I can't wait to be with him again. Covid has taught me not to take things for granted and life is too short to be complacent. Make a change. Make things happen. I went and got a second job so that I could reunite with my love sooner. I hope that whoever reads this decides to make a change to their lives. You can listen to Rob Thomas along the way like I did and it will make you feel better. Although, sometimes if you're missing someone it will make you cry harder.

I have probably 20 of Rob's covers saved. - stuck in the middle, no one is to blame, dancing in the dark, maggie may,, save the last dance, father figure...few covers are as good as the original, every cover I have discovered by Rob Thomas is as great as the original or better. A true talent in every possible way. I can think of a couple of others that I would love to hear.

I've always loved his voice. There's something so unique about it. His songs are amazing. They've helped me out like so many other people. Thanks man and please keep singing. This crazy old Indian grandma is such a fan. Marissa is one hell of a fighter and I liked watching her vids while learning to walk again after a bad surgery, (took 6&1/2 years) since I was SUPPOSED to die within THREE years this was a great accomplishment. It's been over 10 years since the coma and my grandkids freaked out seeing me walk WITHOUT a walker. If this young lady can fight for EVERY good minute of life then so can I. When I started walking and getting stronger I'd listen to your music. When I started to pity myself I'd listen to Marissa. SO....thank for BOTH!!!!!

Have you listened to Rob Thomas talk about the reason that he wrote 3 AM? He explains it at a live performance. If you haven't heard the story behind 3 AM, please do it you will. @@natcole6892 my father in law has narcolepsy n cataplexy. He worked hard n and stayed strong. Napped on the floor at times but in his 80s now is a survivor. You can too may the strength n prayers follow you daily.

This song came out as I was being kicked out of the military for being gay. I thought my world was over as I thought I belonged in the military and was devasted when I had to leave. The song came out and some how made sense. Rob Thomas is a story teller. My military life was over, but my world was never over. Thank you Rob Thomas for being you!

I remember watching this when he first posted it, in my house, and the streets were completely empty during Covid. We had no clue what was happening or what was going to happen. People were dropping left and right. Crazy times. Even Rob said he was wiping down his groceries with Lysol wipes.
